The Pediatric PACU at Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for an experienced nurse to join their team. This is a PRN (as needed) day shift position. Schedule: 1x8 hour shift per week covering unit hours 0800-2130; could include 10- and 12-hour shifts based on unit needs.
This department cares for all types of pediatric patients that require surgical care or anesthesia for testing. They focus on the child and their family for education, preparation and recovery of all types of surgical and anesthetic procedures. The nurses are supported by Clinical Technician staff and Child Life Services. We care for 15-20 patients a day on average, we support both inpatient and outpatient cases.
The department is open Monday through Friday 0600-2130. Staff are expected to float between PACU, Pre-Op and Peds Radiology. This will also include floating to the other Pre-Op and PACU departments, after orientation to those locations. They also share space with the Pediatric Procedure, Sedation Unit and the two units support one another.
RN PACU Qualifications:
One year of critical care (ICU or ED) or PACU RN experience is required.
Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
BLS healthcare provider certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required at hire; ACLS and PALS must be completed in the first 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 or more years of PACU experience to include Pediatric PACU experience

The CVICU is a 24-bed, high-acuity unit located in Falls Church, VA, specializing in the care of patients post-cardiac and vascular surgery, heart and lung transplant, advanced heart failure, and other complex diagnoses requiring intensive monitoring and life-saving interventions. CVICU RN Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
Certifications: BLS for healthcare provider certification from AHA required. ACLS (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
CVICU RN Preferred Qualifications:
