Ms. Bonstein has over 15 years of operational and financial leadership experience in the life sciences industry. She currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer of Insmed Incorporated, a global biopharmaceutical company on a mission to transform the lives of patients with serious and rare diseases.

Nicole Schaeffer oversaw Human Resources and Leadership Development at Amicus from 2005 to 2012. She brings over twelve years of experience building talent and infrastructure at early stage biotechnology companies. She led the growth of Amicus from 16 employees to 120 employees, including all staffing, compensation, benefits, organizational design, performance systems, training initiatives and employee relations activities. She managed organizational design and implemented communication plans that supported Amicus’ development partnerships with Shire and GlaxoSmithKline and she oversaw the IT, Facilities and Real Estate Functions that allowed ongoing expansion without disruption. She created the first IT Steering team to develop a strategic technology plan to support sustained and rapid growth.

Prior to joining Amicus, Ms. Schaeffer worked at Flagship Ventures helping to start several high-tech/biotech companies including Adnexus Therapeutics, Epitome Biosystems and BG Medicine.

Ms. Schaeffer served as Director and later Senior Director of Human Resources for all three firms, responsible for all HR functions. Preceding her work with Flagship Ventures, Ms. Schaeffer rose from Manager to Director of Human Resources, responsible for all HR functions for Oak Industries, Inc., a publicly traded $450 million supplier of components to the communications industry. During her tenure, Oak Industries was acquired by Corning Inc. Ms. Schaeffer has also held a variety of human resources positions at EMC Corporation.
