Summary:
The Lead Inspector is the person primarily responsible for ensuring inspections are completed accurately and in a timely manner, delegating these responsibilities as appropriate. This position also assists the Quality Assurance Manager in his duties, helping with audits, documentation, and other quality-related duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to authorized shop inspectors in the performance of their duties
Perform inspections of in-process and completed work to ensure it conforms to standards
Inspect parts for conformity to engineering drawing specifications
Provide technical and compliance support to shop supervision and personnel
Perform Receiving inspection duties for purchased material and services
Prepare and execute maintenance release and certification documents. Complete FAA Form 337 in support of major repairs and alterations, update customer aircraft weight, balance & equipment list and other compliance documentation as required.
Perform internal audits and coordinate corrective actions of the company quality system requirements
Assist with the tool & test equipment calibration program and employee training requirements
Assist with the completion of quality system documentation and development and publishing of quality system manuals and supporting procedures
Work independently in the performance of their assigned duties, set priorities for self and others, and maintain good communication with company leadership
Travel to perform onsite inspections when required for AOG or other unique needs situations

Qualifications:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
FAA inspection Authorization certification preferred
5 years experience in aviation maintenance activity
2 years experience in an inspection role with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of an article or conformity of a part
Skills & Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of FAA rules and regulations, especially the requirements for the inspection process
Working knowledge of 14 CFR part 21, 43, 145
Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills
Ability to to understand and correctly interpret engineering drawings
Work Environment:
Work will primarily be performed in a climate-controlled hangar, with exposure to fumes, smoke, loud sounds, etc. Occasional work in the elements may be required with exposure to hot, cold, windy, or wet weather likely.
Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting 50 pounds, and working in varying weather conditions if needed, with frequent walking, standing, sitting and ability to access tight spaces in the performance of inspection duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Perform basic visual and dimensional inspection functions on manufactured parts per inspection procedure instructions.
2. Record inspection data as required.
3. Recognize and communicate out of control and out of specification conditions to Manufacturing per designated procedures. Write Cause and Effect Reports (C&E's), as needed.
4. Write Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) as designated by procedures.
5. Provide unit samples, other pertinent quality criteria and other information at start up.
6. File all necessary items in their proper place.
7. Assist manufacturing leadership whenever possible with acceptable criteria, problem investigation and procedure interpretation.
8. Recognize and communicate changes to part quality that may need technical staff attention per inspection procedures.
9. Send reports via email to appropriate staff, as assigned and needed.
10. Perform the above duties with the assistance of an Inspector 2, Inspector 3, or Inspector 4 when presented with an unfamiliar part, procedure or measuring method.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
1. Applies 5S to keep area neat and clean for next shift.
2. Assist with rework as needed.
3. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be able to read, understand and verbally communicate work instructions.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

Depending on a county and if it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.

Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.

Vocational Training and/or apprenticeships in Quality Control Inspections or equivalent experience in related field

Skills:
Skilled at performing examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, components and parts on all types of standard and special products
Experience with blueprints, drawings and parts lists
Proficient computer skills

Responsibilities: + Hire, train, and supervise a field crew of 1-5 people.
+ Maintain all tools, vehicles, and equipment.
+ Achieve expected safety, quality, and production goals.
+ Collect field data and maintain daily and weekly report.
Qualifications: + Must be at least 19 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
+ Possess leadership qualities to effectively supervise and motivate a working field crew.
+ Assume full responsibility for the safe operation and maintenance of a company vehicle, equipment, and tools.
+ Ability to positively represent the Osmose organization to customers and the communities in which they work.
+ Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather and have the desire to actively participate in physically demanding work lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
