This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will inspect development and flight vehicle components for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of providing accurate data on tight tolerance, high value components to determine configuration per engineering designs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Handle preparations for parts requiring non-contact inspection scanning methods.
* Inspection Software Quality Assurance.
* Program, setup and operate Bluelight inspection system.
* Perform Manual Layout on granite table of complex hardware.
* Using design data to inspect additive manufactured, machined and received components.
* Perform first article, in-process & final inspections.
* Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data.
* Document, track and complete nonconformance reports.
* Provide inspection time estimates.
* Maintain and supervise inspection equipment calibrations.

Minimum Qualifications:
* A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace/automotive/aviation components/medical devices.
* Outstanding blue print reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-2009 or 2018 standard.
* Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
* Familiar with the use of personal computers.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Bluelight inspection system/ATOS or GOM or similar.
* Aerospace quality inspection experience.
* CAD system knowledge.
* Experience with ATOS Professional software.
* Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
* Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.

Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.

General Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspection of cut, formed, weld fabricated, machined or assemblies for adherence to engineering drawings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Interpretation and understanding of shop drawings to determine if a part is made to print. Examples are:
o Weld symbols
o Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbols
o Print legend and notation
2. The ability to use measuring instruments to verify whether a product is conforming to shop drawings. Examples include Micrometer, Caliper, Jo blocks, Pin gage, Tape measure, Dial indicator
3. Manual Dexterity and ability to lift to 30 lbs.
4. Must be able to distinguish color in this position and the ability to read small print and distinguish fine details.
5. Reading skills to understand instructions, plans, or purchase orders.
6. Good communication skills enabling verbal and written communication using active listening and learning.
7. Tasks include but are not limited to:
o Process Production reject tags, issuing a Quality Hold.
o File Maker system for accurate product disposition with basic computer skills.
o Issue Quality Hold for all nonconforming material.
o Help investigate out of process activities and assist with containment of nonconforming material.
o Review process check sheets for completeness.
o Data collection with part verification inspection
o Audit defined processes for adherence to the process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma (or GED).
2. Prior manufacturing experience, with some aspect of Quality inspection (preferred).
3. Prior experience in metal fabrication a plus or welding/layout experience (preferred).
4. Basic blueprint reading skills and welding symbols.
5. The ability to use basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. (preferred)
6. Must have ability to use appropriate tools related to the task.
