ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Perform basic visual and dimensional inspection functions on manufactured parts per inspection procedure instructions.
2. Record inspection data as required.
3. Recognize and communicate out of control and out of specification conditions to Manufacturing per designated procedures. Write Cause and Effect Reports (C&E's), as needed.
4. Write Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) as designated by procedures.
5. Provide unit samples, other pertinent quality criteria and other information at start up.
6. File all necessary items in their proper place.
7. Assist manufacturing leadership whenever possible with acceptable criteria, problem investigation and procedure interpretation.
8. Recognize and communicate changes to part quality that may need technical staff attention per inspection procedures.
9. Send reports via email to appropriate staff, as assigned and needed.
10. Perform the above duties with the assistance of an Inspector 2, Inspector 3, or Inspector 4 when presented with an unfamiliar part, procedure or measuring method.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
1. Applies 5S to keep area neat and clean for next shift.
2. Assist with rework as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

JOB description
Position Summary: The QA Inspector is responsible for inspecting parts, manufactured both internally and externally and providing information relative to the compliance of the parts relative to released documentation. This position will also include Final Weapons inspection as well as lasering of finished parts. PWS has a vast portfolio of weapons systems in production as well as in development. Candidates need to have understanding of basic weapons function and be willingness to learn internal process that we use.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect parts daily using appropriate measurement devices
Maintain Quality Assurance paperwork
Work with shop/vendor to resolve parts issues
Maintain clean workspace with some shared tools

Education/Experience: Degree from academic or trade school preferred but not required. Should have experience with GD&T, MCOSMOS, MeasurLink 8 and above. Experience using and setting ring gages, using thread wires, and knowledge of thread classes. Experience using different types of dial gages, basic hand tool measurement equipment including measuring coating thickness. Experience using Mahr and Mitutoyo equipment. Knowledge of basic calibration schedule and requirements. Prior machine shop experience.
Language Ability: Read, analyze and interpret typical manufacturing documents. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings as well as identify non-conformances on physical parts. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.
Mathematical Ability: Must be able to conduct many types of mathematical problems including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Critical Thinking/Problem Solving a must. Integrity is a high priority in this department of PWS.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, individuals must have basic computer related skills including familiarization with word processing, spreadsheet, and MRP/ERP software.
Certificates and Licenses: Lean/Six Sigma and QA certification desirable but not required. Past machining experience a plus.

A growing construction services firm is seeking certified Special Inspectors to support field inspection activities across various commercial and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on monitoring the installation and construction of structural elements to ensure compliance with plans, codes, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct special inspections on active job sites, including welding, bolting, reinforced concrete, and structural masonry.
Review project drawings and specifications to prepare for field inspections.
Drive to job sites and perform inspections in accordance with relevant building codes and contract documents.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain field and lab equipment as needed.
Accurately complete and submit electronic daily field reports with clear summaries of work performed and observations.

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of field testing or inspection experience required.
ICC, CWI, WAQTC, or other special inspection certifications required based on project needs.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in dynamic field environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment:
Onsite and field-based role; involves frequent travel to construction sites.
Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
Physical activities include walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs (75 lbs with assistance).
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays during peak season (March-November).
