Qualify supplier components and/or systems for assuring conforming product. Adheres to calibrations system of inspection, measuring and test equipment. Applies Statistical Quality Control techniques as directed. Assist with interpretation of drawings, specifications and quality requirements. Properly process goods for outside processing, investigates and evaluates component parts returned and nonconforming product. The Quality Team Lead provides effective training to the quality control cell and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained. Work with supervisor to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met. Purpose: The Dimensional Inspector responsibilities consist of the Visual and Dimensional inspections of inner and outer mounting surfaces. The Dimensional Inspector will determine if mounting surface areas are within acceptable specification in accordance with shop travelers and engine manuals. Inspectors will use specialized tooling (dial indicators, mikrokators, calipers, gage blocks, sunnen gage, federal gage, hardness tester etc.) for measuring ID's and OD's. Job Description This position is responsible for performing in-process, component and finished goods visual and dimensional inspections using SPC/AQL sampling plans to support production, incoming receiving inspection and Quality investigations as needed. These inspections utilize industry standard metrology and gaging methods to identify defects and ensure product meets customer requirements. This position works on the production floor sampling, performing visual inspections and assessing quality of the parts and process. Attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal amount of supervision and understanding of quality inspection tools and equipment is required.
