Meets with municipalities, state, and federal government officials concerning matters relating to building plan review and municipality building permits.
Conduct inspections of construction foundations, alterations, repairs, remodeling, or demolition of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, wood construction and inspection of plumbing, heating, and electrical installations and the installation of building systems, when permitting is required, to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and any applicable local technical amendment to the Florida Building Code.
Enforcement of project requirements and assuring that non-compliance situations are detected and rectified.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the construction field
Knowledgeable of the Florida Building Code
Building plan review and/or inspection experience is desirable.
Strong structural and building background is a plus
License and Certification
State of Florida Commercial Roofing Inspector License
State of Florida Building Inspector and/or Plan Reviewer license is desirable

POSITION SUMMARY
The Inspector is responsible for observing and monitoring the delivery of material to verify conformance to quality and quantity specifications, while ensuring that all his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include assisting with daily production operations, as well as receiving and stockpiling of materials and products. Work Environment: Scrap metal yard, outdoor all-weather conditions.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for inspecting incoming customer loads for acceptable and non-acceptable materials.
Maintain a broad and working knowledge of different types of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Identify and grade inbound scrap and reject unacceptable items.
Direct customer traffic to the appropriate collection sites.
This includes identifying non-conforming items and properly pointing these out to customer and deducting weight as needed.

Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.
