Responsibilities
At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition
Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client
Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues
Provide technical guidance, on a application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures
Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives

Requirements
Certification of Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
5 - 10 years' experience or 2+ years on site experience

Job Description
Thompson Engineering is looking for a CEI Inspector in the Tuscaloosa, AL area. CEI Inspectors follow standard procedures in documenting construction projects and inspecting job activities to verify they are in compliance with project plans and specifications.
The inspector will be responsible for completing a daily report documenting the labor and equipment used by the contractor to include a description of the work performed and any pertinent conversations with the contractor.
The inspector will assist with office work such as plotting cross-sections and computing earthwork quantities. The inspector will report directly to the Senior Inspector and/or the Project Manager.
DUTIES
1. Inspect work in progress to ensure conformance with plans and specifications.
2. Inspect workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards.
3. Maintains required reports of construction inspection activities.
4. Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from plans and incorporates changes into master plans.
5. Inspects and test materials incorporated into the project.
6. Drive company vehicle safely to and from worksites
7. Maintains required reports of construction inspection activities.
8. Conduct all work activities in compliance with Thompson Holdings, Inc. Health, Safety & Environmental Management System, safety policies & procedures, safety execution plans and Job Safety and Environmental Analyses.
9. Attend and pro-actively participate in monthly safety meetings, project toolbox safety meetings and safety moments.
10. Ensures regular and on time attendance.
11. Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Valid Driver's License
3. Intermediate math and geometry skills in order to calculate areas, volume, etc.
4. Background in survey preferred
Physical Requirements
1. Ability to work in the outside elements of the field up to 100% of the time
2. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
