Observes and monitors field work activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
Checks lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard field measuring equipment.
Read and Interpret contract plans, specifications, and contract language.

Who you are:

Working knowledge and understanding of CDOT specification, standards and forms;
A minimum of two (2) years inspecting CDOT projects.
Ability to read road and bridge construction plans.

Ability to work independently.
Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts as required on assigned projects.
Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.

Function:
The Sr. QC Inspector will utilize their inspection experience to ensure the products coming from external and internal vendors are compliant with the technical requirements specified. This position is responsible for verifying requirements from purchase orders are satisfied, all needed and substantiating documentation is created and recorded, and all parts are released to continue down through production.
Responsibilities Include:
Gather needed certifications and documents required for our ISO 9001:2015, ASME, NQA-1 and 10CFR50 Appendix B quality programs.
Review and approve quality paperwork and perform timely in-process inspections.
Measure precision machined components and fabrications against drawing requirements.
Measure and inspect components coming from vendors for conformance to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications; process standards and specifications; and production or process plans.
Utilize digital CMM equipment and laser trackers, as well as calibrated hand tools to perform measurements.
Accept or reject material and identify and document anomalies and non-conformances.
Create and maintain inspection records utilizing many different electronic information systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience with mechanical inspection, programming digital coordinate measurement machines, measurement using hand inspection tools and troubleshooting sources of error are critical to the position.
At least 3 years of experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
QA experience in the application of ASME, NQA-1 and/or 10CFR50 Appendix B, as well as audit support.
NDT experience including magnetic particle, liquid penetrant or leak testing (MT, PT, LT).
ASNT qualifications and AWS CWI certification is a plus.
Customer specification and drawing review, and quality document submittal preparation experience is desired.
Typical Working Conditions:
The QC Inspector works in a fabrication shop as well as an office environment. The fabrication shop may involve exposure to heavy machinery, welding operations, and metal or plastic fabrication processes. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasional travel may be required to vendor locations to perform inspections or audits. JFT has implemented a 9/80 work schedule, and the office is closed every other Friday.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods, walk throughout the shop floor, and move between workstations. Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching may be required during inspections. May involve lifting and carrying objects, typically up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to use hand tools and inspection equipment that may require physical strength. Manual dexterity is essential for handling small parts, tools, and precision instruments. Vision, including color perception, depth perception, and the ability to focus on small details is required. The ability to hear instructions, alarms, or equipment sounds that indicate potential issues is necessary. This position requires sustained concentration to ensure detailed inspections and accurate measurements. Must be able to work on a computer, use standard office equipment, and be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Adhere to all ESD requirements and Board Handling. * Use of Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements based on component moisture sensitive levels (MSL).
* Verify process compliance to document control process and procedures.
* Examine product to verify conformance to workmanship standards.
* Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials through the designated ERP system.
* Inspect product being processed through work cell according to specific in-process inspector training and procedure, along with IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
* Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs as applicable.
* Resolve quality-related issues in a timely matter.
* Approves finished material and/or product by confirming specifications, conducting visual measurement tests, returning products for re-work and confirming re-work.
* Responsible for stopping processes, with communication to Production Supervisor, lead and/or engineering, to control manufacture of non-conforming assemblies.
* Support and follow all ISO standards related to various Quality Management Systems. These systems may include, but are not limited to, quality, the environment, health, safety and security.
* Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.

Verify acceptability of rework after completion
Identify and mark non-conforming product to ensure it is not delivered
Prepare standard and AS9102 First Article Reports as needed
Verify certifications and reports are complete and accurate and can be used for final acceptance and certification of product
Complete Deliverables for Customers and ensure they are complete and accurate
Complete department logs and record yield data as required
Perform preventative maintenance as defined by department maintenance schedule
Support other work areas or departments as required by production or management.
Ability to work overtime as requested
