The QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials and shipments meet quality standards before being accept into inventory. This role goes beyond basic verification and requires the expertise to perform complex inspections, document, and report non-conformance issues. The QC Inspector II also performs other assignments as needed by the job and the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform comprehensive visual and quality inspections on a wide variety of incoming materials and components.
Reject shipments that fail to meet quality specifications and process non-conformance reports.
Verify the quantity and type of items received and cross check purchase orders, repairs and packing lists with CMS ERP system.
Perform and document advanced inspections and tests on received products, materials, and components.
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and store material safely during receiving process.
Perform data entry to accurately record receipts in the inventory management system, including barcode scanning.
Assign appropriate bin or storage locations for received items.
Document and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to Warehouse management team, procurement, and other relevant teams.
Generate and process Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMRs) according to standard procedures.
Take pictures of damaged inbound products for accurate reporting and vendor communication.
Comply with all applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations in the execution of receiving and inventory duties.

We are currently seeking an NDT Quality Assurance Inspector B to join our operations team at our Jupiter, FL location. This position requires non-destructive testing techniques and methods to ensure propulsion components meet quality control standards

Essential Functions:
Working with planning, engineering and supporting departments, provide technical guidance to interpret and implement nondestructive test requirements of developmental and production programs. Plan, coordinate and perform setups and inspections. Coordinate the training activities of other inspectors. Maintain appropriate Level II/III certification including required reliability demonstrations.
Review and check complex procedures, drawings, work instructions and specifications to detect errors and interface with planning and/or engineering to recommend changes or revisions to improve efficiencies and methods. Identify nondestructive equipment design improvements. Work from written and verbal instructions, drawings, quality assurance data sheets, inspection methods and standards, nondestructive test specifications, general operating method and instructions from nondestructive test engineer to plan, setup, calibrate and perform capability checks and inspections on complex hardware. Use various precision measurement and optical equipment as required to determine acceptability and/or to describe defect size and location.
Clean and otherwise process parts for NDT inspection processes. Select or devise appropriate holding devices and make recommendations for the modification of fixtures and tools to accommodate new, unusual, or irregularly shaped parts.
Prepare detailed reports for inspections performed showing defect(s) revealed by the test as applicable. For all tests, accept or reject material based on interpretation of applicable standards. Fill out quality review orders or inspection discrepancy and correction records and mark parts, scope, or chart to show indications of defects revealed and to process unacceptable parts per procedures. Determine root cause(s) and work with others to establish effective corrective action to resolve. Responsible for entering pertinent information into all computer systems using the Point of Origin Material Review Board Procedures to ensure historical information is properly maintained. Complete and stamp all required documentation to acknowledge accepted/rejected hardware.
Clean parts requiring minor cleaning after inspection using conventional means.
Ensure the movement of parts is tracked through applicable systems and carry small parts to their next location or contact inside transportation for the movement of large parts.

After inspection of the optics, must be able to wrap the lens to protect from scratches, stains, chips, etc.
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in a reliable and consistent manner.
Must accurately document the description of lenses that do not meet the surface quality requirements, segregate the nonconforming parts from acceptable lenses, and to protect the rejected lens before sending to rework (internally or externally) or transferring acceptable lenses to inventory.
May use various measuring instruments to measure physical dimension (in mm and inches).
Must be able to escalate observed or potential lens quality or process defects to team lead or department supervisor.
Must be organized, meticulous and a conscientious worker to minimize mishandling. Lenses inspected are finished product to be built into assemblies that must be handled with utmost care.
Maintain contamination control and cleanliness of the area at all times.
Proper safety procedures and process controls will be followed at all times when working with solvents, sharp edges and high intensity light sources.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation from a standard high school or an equivalent recognized certificate. Considerable responsible experience in the inspection of plans, specifications, construction, installation and alterations of various buildings, trades, projects or any equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
To be eligible for appointment as a Structural Inspector or Limited Structural Building Inspector, such person shall be certified by the State of Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCIAB) as a Structural Inspector. (Exception: Architects and Engineers are exempt from BCIAB certification only.) Such person shall be certified by the Board of Rules and Appeals and shall meet at least one of the following qualifications:
a. An Architect or an Engineer in the discipline requested and having practiced within the area of HVHZ for at least three (3) years or
b. Either five (5) years construction experience in the Structural discipline in a supervisory capacity of which at least two (2) years shall have been within the jurisdiction of the HVHZ code or five (5) years as an active State Certified Structural Inspector of which at least two (2) years shall have been within the jurisdiction of HVHZ code. An applicant for certification as Structural Inspector under the provision of this section, who has passed BORA HVHZ Exam may substitute experience within the State of Florida for the required HVHZ Experience.
c. An applicant for Certification as a Structural Inspector under the provisions of this section who is a graduate from an accredited school holding a Bachelor or Associate of Science Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Building Construction may be credited for three (3) years for Bachelor Degree or one (1) year for an Associate Degree of the required five year experience.
Each of the applicants shall possess a current Certificate of Competency as a General Contractor (Unlimited) issued by at least one of the following entities:
* Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board
* Broward County Central Examining Board of Building Construction Trades (as Class "A" Unlimited General Contractor).
* Miami-Dade County Construction Trades Qualifying Board, Block proctored, issued on or after January 1, 1968.
* Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations as an Architect or Engineer.
Exception: Individuals holding licenses as a residential contractor and/or building contractor, with a current Certificate of Competency issued by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board or Broward County Central Examining Board of Building Construction Trades, may be certified as Limited Structural Building Inspector or Limited Structural Residential Inspector with duties limited to the type and size of work for which they are certified to build. Inspectors employed under this Exception shall be required to attend the first available formal educational course as approved by BORA immediately following employment.
For those who are hired without certifications, upon obtaining them, they would receive a $3000 increase in pay. Individuals who already have certification upon hire would be brought in above the minimum at the level of $67, 163.07, incorporating that $3000 increase up front. Additionally, it is recommended that those who receive the bonus after certification be required to stay with the City for at least two years or be required to pay this money back upon separation.
This is a designated "Recovery" classification in the City's Emergency Operations Plan and will require the employee occupying this position to work for declared emergencies. Attendance at National Management System (NIMS) training at the appropriate level is mandatory.
