Aviation Engine Quality Control Inspector The Aviation Engine Quality Control Inspector will report to the Quality, Safety, Engineering Manager via the Lead Inspector. Quality Control Inspectors review all procedures, equipment, and systems on an engine to ensure it meets federal safety regulations. They examine maintenance records to verify all maintenance has been performed and investigate incidents and complaints to determine causes. Duties/Responsibilities: * Inspectors must always maintain proper part 65 certification for their current assignment. * Oversee the quality control processes to ensure that maintenance and repair work meets the required standards set forth in the Repair Station Quality Manual. * Conduct historical and AD/ASB research for customer engines. * The inspector will be responsible for the inspection of engines, engine parts, sub-assemblies, and accessories in accordance with FAA approved technical data or instructions. This includes but is not limited to Receiving, In-Process and Final Inspections. * The inspector will perform complete inspection of components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, using approved types of measuring instruments, and inspection equipment. * The inspector is responsible for verifying the execution, inspection, and successful completion of the work performed. The inspector should ensure all work scope instructions, quality and regulatory requirements are complied with. * All inspection personnel must maintain proficiency in the use of various types of inspection aids, tools and gages routinely used for inspection of each item undergoing inspection. * Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements in compliance with regulatory requirements. Complete maintenance logbooks and documentation accurately. * The inspector must ensure that all calibrated tools have current calibration and consumable materials being used are within their listed shelf life and have not expired. * Assist in the conduct of investigations into incidents or discrepancies in maintenance procedures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. * To ensure compliance to the applicable title 14 CFR parts, inspection personnel are required to be thoroughly familiar with all inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used in their area of responsibility to determine the quality of airworthiness of an article undergoing maintenance, repair, or alteration. * Inspection personnel must remain current on requirements and how to find data contained in 14 CFR Parts 1, 43, 65 and 145. The maintenance being performed may be controlled by the requirements of 14 CFR Parts 91, 121, 125, 135, and all maintenance must be accomplished per the operator's program requirements. * Perform other duties as may be directed by the Quality, Safety, Engineering Manager, Chief Inspector or Lead Inspector. Required Skills/Abilities: * Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working and communicating effectively with all levels in the organization. * Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. * Problem-solving mindset and a proactive, creative approach to challenges. * Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Web applications, and general technical data, including ESM, AMM, SB's. * Bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field preferred but not required. Previous experience in lieu of a degree is possible. * FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred, Powerplant required. * Prior experience with engine maintenance, engine changes, engine inspections and module removal & installation required. * Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer. * Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times. Position receives guidance and direction regarding day-to-day work tasks from a Fire Extingusher Technician. Job Qualifications Experience in construction or similar field with demonstrated mechanical skills or related training is a plus. Ability to follow verbal work instructions/directions. Capable of working independently and completing duties and projects with moderate supervision. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while under pressure to meet expected time frames. Demonstrate the initiative to learn skills of the trade. Ability to read labels, signage and directions along with basic math computation skills. Demonstrate strong customer service orientation. Strong organization skills, positive attitude, and ability to quickly learn. Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times. Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements. Ability to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes, a plus.
