Gate Operations:

As a Construction Inspector with RK&K you will perform complex and routine inspections on materials, processes, safety, and documentation to ensure construction contractors conform to plans, specifications, and special provisions.
Essential Function
Review drawings to prepare for the inspection
Understand the design of the construction that will be inspected
Document the results of the inspection and communicates to the supervisor
Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation as well as other contract administration documentation
Inspect work zones for proper traffic control setup, erosion control devices and maintenance thereof, utility coordination and right-of-way issue resolution
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 2 years of inspection experience required
Experience and certifications in SCDOT inspection and materials testing (earthwork, asphalt, concrete, pavement preservation and Erosion & Sedimentation Control) is preferred
Experience with SCDOT's construction procedures is a plus

What You'll Do
Quality Inspection
Conduct comprehensive inspections of completed boats to ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
Verify all systems, finishes, and details meet design, operational, and aesthetic benchmarks.
Reporting
Prepare and deliver detailed inspection reports to the EVP, documenting pass/fail results and identified deficiencies.
Maintain a log of recurring issues for continuous improvement.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure compliance with internal quality protocols and relevant industry standards.
Stay updated on regulatory requirements and best practices in boat manufacturing quality.
Collaboration
Communicate quality issues and provide actionable feedback to production teams.
Partner with the EVP to develop and implement quality improvement strategies.
Final Approval
Serve as the final authority to approve or reject boats for delivery, with an impartial and thorough approach.
What We're Looking For
Electrical background and troubleshooting skills (DC and AC electrical systems)
Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical ability
Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in inspection tools and report documentation
Ability to troubleshoot fuel and/or electronic systems for Mercury and Yamaha
Familiarity with boat systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
Working knowledge of marine industry safety and quality standards
Independent and self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
High level of integrity and professionalism
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds during inspections.
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and occasionally on-site at marinas.

About the Role
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to ensure they meet company requirements. They utilize specifications, drawings, and standards to assess products via visual inspection, testing, or measurement. The QC Inspector will ensure documentation of all non-conformances and facilitate disposition and remedial actions that yield conforming products.
Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans.
Perform detailed inspections on products, components, and materials to verify compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to check produced goods.
Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products.
Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
Identify and report defects, deviations, and non-conformities to assist in the root cause determination and corrective/preventive action recommendation.
Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes, and inputting data into a quality database.
Analyze inspection data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in the production process.
Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to implement process improvement based on quality data analysis.
Communicate quality issues and findings to relevant stakeholders, including supervisors, managers, and production teams.
Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.
Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
Assisting with internal and 3
