Job Description
EXL Risk Control is looking for self-directed independent contractors who possess excellent
communication skills, computer proficiency, and a commitment to meeting client quality and
timeliness standards. You will work from your own home or office, and service onsite
survey/inspection assignments in the Idaho Falls, ID area, and other locations within approximately 45 miles of Idaho Falls.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for scheduling on-site surveys and providing risk control reports to
insurance industry clients. These reports contain information necessary to underwrite a
commercial insurance policy and may include recommendations to control and/or correct
potential loss producing conditions associated with that policy. You will be expected to
manage assignments you accept, successfully secure customer appointments within a
local territory and complete work assignments on time.
Our Risk Control Inspectors evaluate businesses behind the scenes to identify hazards and
improve safety, mitigating risks for our insurance company clients. The type of businesses
we survey are commercial operations, including retail, restaurants, hotels, apartments,
construction jobsites, churches, schools, etc. Most surveys are focused on assessing the
business for Property and General Liability coverage, but we also service other commercial
insurance lines of business including Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability,
Inland Marine and Builders Risk.
Qualifications
Preferred experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claim,
loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety experience is a plus, but all interested
candidates are encouraged to submit their qualifications. In lieu of experience, we can refer
you to a 15-hour online certification option to qualify you. Fees are negotiable depending on
experience and the unique aspects of selected jobs.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

OVERVIEW
The Quality Inspection Technician - Entry performs basic maintenance and repairs to customer vehicles. A successful candidate for the Quality Inspection Technician - Entry position will be mechanically inclined, enjoy working on vehicles, and have a good work ethic. There are no tools or formal training required for this position. Opportunities for paid training and career advancement exist for this position!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inject grease into units, such as springs, universal joints, and steering knuckles, using hand or compressed-air powered grease gun.
Inspect fluid levels of steering gear, power steering reservoir, transmission, differential, rear axle housings, and shackles.
Check air pressure of tires.
Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants.
Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil.
Spray leaf springs with lubricant, using spray gun.
Add water to radiator and battery.
Replace oil and air filters.
Sell lubrication and safety inspection services and maintain related records on regular customers, following up periodically with telephone, mail, or personal reminders.
Perform duties that are work related as directed by manager or lead technician.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Valid Driver's License.
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Two years of experience as a technician's helper or apprentice in an automotive dealership.
Manual dexterity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
Good work ethic.
Positive, hard-working attitude, with good judgment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a physically demanding position. The Quality Inspection Technician - Entry will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will lift parts weighing up to 70 pounds. Will use spray gun. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and feel. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential duty satisfactorily. The working conditions described above are representative of those an individual may encounter while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position. We are currently seeking inspector applicants who are qualified to work in the USA and have a history of direct experience completing commercial line inspections and/or have completed a training course such as, the VIITA Basic Commercial Line Inspector course or its equivalent.
Full Job Description of the Loss Control Inspector:
· Receives assignments electronically and reviews for inspection requirements.
· Schedules the inspection appointment with the Insured by phone, email, or text.
· Inspects the property for potential issues or hazards pertaining to utilities/building systems (heating, wiring, plumbing), common areas, maintenance, protections, and life safety, etc. Take 20-35 exterior/interior photos. Take measurements with a measuring wheel or with online tools as needed.
· Interviews the Insured for operations information, ages of the building systems, etc.
· Communicates inspection status through online application.
· Completes the inspection report on the web-based Loss Control 360 system with Rapid Sketch. Returns the completed report electronically (the reports consist of check-off questions, narrative, and digital photos).
Preferred skills:
3-5 years' experience providing commercial insurance loss control inspections
Understanding of commercial property and casualty lines: property, general liability, and worker's compensation
Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and communicate well verbally and in writing
Comfortable completing reports online and uploading documents
Other Recommended Skills:
