NWI Nashville LLC manufactures complex aerostructure components of commercial, business, and military aircraft worldwide. We specialize in complex, structural and mechanical assemblies, machined components, and sheet metal fabrication. Occupation Summary This occupation requires the operation of magnetic, penetrant and dye check inspection equipment and the subsequent inspection for defects in ferrous and non-ferrous welded, forged, cast, raw and machined parts. Work Performed Inspects ferrous and non-ferrous parts in which defects have been detected or indicated by processing in magnetic testing, penetrant or dye check equipment and makes proper disposition. Visually examines iron oxide powder, penetrant oil or dye check patterns basing disposition (accepted, rejected, or rework) upon buildup, location, and course of pattern, depth and number of defects and nature of part and fabrication operations involved. Makes recommendation where defect can and should be eliminated by grinding or machining and approves rework method when parts are salvageable.
