Full-time Description The Spooling Inspector is in charge of checking all cable used in production to determine defects that may affect quality of the final product. Duties and Responsibilities: Inspects and tests coated or uncoated wire and cable for such properties as electrical resistance, size, and tactile inspection to verify their conformance to specifications. Reads written specifications or receives oral instructions and determines work aids required and inspection procedures. Measures wire/cable for size, and defects using micrometers and fixed gauges. Examines wire for defects, such as pits, scratches, and burnt surfaces. Records test results and informs supervisor when wire varies from specifications. Respools cables according to customers specification and perform final inspections of spools. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
