The New York City Department of Investigation ("DOI") is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country; its mission is to combat municipal corruption. DOI's Squad 4 seeks an Assistant Inspector General (AIG) who will lead and conduct criminal investigations into fraud and corruption relating to City agencies, employees and contractors. SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR - 31130 Minimum Qualifications 1.A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in an industrial or governmental agency in the field of investigation, auditing, law enforcement, security, inspections, or in a major operational area of the agency in which the appointment is to be made; or 2.A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; or 3.Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. Preferred Skills 1.A minimum of four years of experience conducting complex investigations (preferably involving procurement, contracting, and/or otherwhite-collar related criminal offenses). Possess excellent organizational skills and proven ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-pacedenvironment. 6.Experience with investigations into government agencies, procurement, and/or contracts. (11:00pm-07:00am) Responsibilities: Oversee the surveillance cameras for multiple Hi-Rise Luxury Buildings and surrounding Community Streets Secure premises by patrolling property; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points Troubleshoot surveillance camera issues should they arise Escalate any situation that arises to the appropriate person and/or 911 Emergency Enforce establishment regulations Reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures. Act as overnight fire safety officer Requirements: Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position, such as a First Responder Comfortability with software including ButterflyMx, Avigilon VMS, Gsuite, and Access Control High school degree and proficiency in English Surveillance skills and details orientation Physical Requirement: Ability to jog fast or run in the case of an emergency Pay Rate: $18.00/hour Benefit Package includes: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid Time Off for Holidays, Vacation, and Sick leave 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with Employer Matching Contributions Job Type: Full-time Schedule: 11:00pm-7:00am (40 hours a week)
