    Sci-Tek Consultants, Inc., an engineering and surveying firm, is currently seeking construction inspectors with 15 plus years of experience working with water and wastewater treatment or utilities and construction inspection projects for its Pittsburgh office. The successful candidate will perform underground construction inspections (tunnel shafts and adits) and administration services, attend job project meetings, review estimates and change orders, and perform other duties as required. Required Skills/Experience Observe the Contractor's operations to verify the technical requirements of the Contract are achieved on-site and report directly to the designated Project Engineer. Verify that the Contractor adheres to its QC and Method Statement Submittals, Quality Control Plans and Work Plans. Liaise with Contractor's nominated supervisor on-site to identify and resolve nonconformances, safety hazards, and technical issues and problems. Maintain accurate electronic shift records (DFI) of construction activities, including all labor, equipment, and materials employed in the work. Monitor and keep DFI records of the tunnel boring machine (TBM) principal functions. Monitor and keep DFI records of the lining installation and annulus backfill grouting. Monitor correct levels and frequency of TBM inspection and maintenance. Report safety deficiencies and environmental issues, such as spills to the Safety Specialist, Project Engineer and Resident Engineer. This includes in-process inspection of circuit breaker cabinets in wiring, fully assembled breakers before test, and shipping inspection.
