Mortgage Property Inspection Overview:
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on the properties they have financial interest in. The lender contracts with GIS to have inspectors go out to verify the property occupancy, report general property conditions, letter delivery/posting, vacant interior walkthrough or insurance repair progress report. Majority of our inspections are basic exteriors where some do require contact by door knock or letter delivery. In addition, there will be some inspections which require interior access to secured/vacant properties and appointment based insurance loss inspections.

Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving
Efficient time management to route and complete inspections with an estimated 3-5 day turnaround time in your agreed territory

The Mechanical Quality Inspector is responsible for interpreting blueprints form GD&T to guide their inspection of all materials mechanical in nature. This is a critical function as the first check point for supplier quality. Additionally, the Inspection department provides inspection services for the floor when there are questionable issues. The Mechanical Quality Control Inspector works with a high level of independence and contributes to inspections of incoming material that is mechanical in nature, received from both external and internal suppliers, formally rejected by assemblers, or returned from the field.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Reads blueprints to inspects incoming mechanical materials thoroughly.
· Utilizes quality control processes, sampling systems, and procedures to ensure part conformance to specifications.
· Ensures QVI incoming quality control product specifications and standards are achieved and maintained.
· Maintains detailed and accurate record keeping practices.
· Accepts or rejects parts that are purchased externally or manufactured within the corporation.

Requirements
· High School Diploma required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in a manufacturing or quality-related field preferred.
· At least 2 years experience in a quality control environment specific to manufacturing and/or mechanical
· At least 2 years experience in a machinist role preferred (helpful in this role along with the knowledge of GD&T!)
· Working knowledge with machining practices and sheet metal components.

The quality control inspector performs inspection of parts, assemblies, products and/or materials for quality, defects, appearance, finishes, variance, and operation through specification or by visual comparison methods. The quality control inspector will be responsible for the documentation of all variable and attribute results, will assist in the development of standardized work instructions / procedures in accordance with our Quality Management System. This role will be actively engaged in many levels of the organization and must be an excellent communicator and educator of GD&T and proper inspection techniques.
To be successful in this position:
Perform large and small part inspection on CMM with Calypso software
Perform gear geometry measurement with metrology equipment
Perform compliance verifications of incoming supplier materials
Maintain inspection reports and procedures
Understand and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings, models, work instructions and specifications
Can verify component conformance using precision gauges, micrometers and other measuring instruments
Have good problem solving and troubleshooting
Be collaborative and team oriented
Be organized, systematic and detail oriented
Can learn from others and follow explicit instruction
Have a high level of accountability and pride in your work
Preferred Education / Training / Experience:
Associate degree or equivalent technical school and/or minimum 3 years' experience and/or training
Training in quality disciplines and metrology is preferred
Combination of education and experience considered
Experience operating a CMM
Experienced with GD&T
Computer Skills:
Calypso (or other CMM programming software)
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
