JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of this job is to ensure the safety and welfare of communities by creating safe buildings and structures. This position is expected to perform inspections with a high degree of accuracy to ensure work performed meets International Code Council requirements. Reviews plan submissions and explains codes and requirements while maintaining a focus on customer service. Protect the health, safety and welfare of people by creating safe buildings and communities. Work is performed both in the office and in the field and involves considerable contact with the public and other persons engaged in property maintenance and construction codes, with a high level of independence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Inspects work done during the construction process to ensure the health, safety and welfare of people by creating safe buildings and communities
Addresses concerns of architects, engineers, contractors, residents, and staff
Performs onsite inspections to ensure compliance with City municipal codes, including the property maintenance code, environmental code, occupancy code, other construction codes and related ordinances.
Reviews plans for code compliance before construction starts
Stays abreast of industry standards and regulations by completing continuing education courses and further certifications through ICC or equivalent
Involves the preparation of daily reports and records on findings
Keeps active and up-to-date office files on all work in process
Prepares reports and accumulates data for court hearings and if corrective measures are not taken; testifies in court as required
Performs proactive inspection sweeps of the city, unrelated to a compliant or scheduled inspection, to ensure compliance of regulations or policies set forth by the City
Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
International Code Council Certification in all disciplines, including, but not limited to, Mechanical, Building, Plumbing and Electrical
A minimum of one year of related experience
Knowledge of industry standards and practices
Knowledge of all aspects of Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Residential and Fire codes
Demonstrated interpersonal skills are essential
Ability to climb on a roof, in attics, up ladders, and on scaffolding in order to perform inspections
Ability to solve problems and maintain composure in high pressure situations
Ability to enforce ordinances and other regulations with firmness and tact while exercising good customer service skills
Ability to become knowledgeable of City-specific environmental health and safety codes, property maintenance codes, fire codes, construction codes, and related laws and ordinances within a reasonable amount of time
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software programs and ability to learn others.

First Article Inspector

Responsible for the First Article Inspection of manufactured parts per AS9102B.
Responsibilities:
Perform first article, in process, receiving, and final inspections of manufactured parts, material and assemblies
Inspect and/or lay out parts, with precision measuring instruments, on surface plates using blocks, parallels, and clamps
Perform in process inspection of detail parts and assemblies to verify compliance to required specifications
Develop graphical presentations of First Article Inspection results and present them during a multi-discipline team review
Must be able to read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, and CAD models
Interpret blueprints and technical specifications related to manufactured parts
Must have knowledge and experience using GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2018
Experience and knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System is preferred
Identify and control nonconforming material, and support Root Cause, and Corrective Actions
Calibrate and maintain precision measuring tools
Work with customer source inspectors
Maintain and organize inspection records in company files
Aerospace manufacturing and assembly experience preferred
Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Requirements:
Minimum High School education or equivalent
Trade School or equivalent experience preferred

This is an hourly, non-exempt position that will oversee all assigned production work scopes to ensure all work accomplished is done in accordance with the West Star Aviation Repair Station Manual and the Federal Aviation Regulations. This will be accomplished while working with Program Managers, Leads and Technicians. The job includes varying duties each day, but include performing work order surveillance and creating maintenance log entries for all maintenance and modifications to aircraft assigned, completing all FAA approval and return to service paperwork as required to support production and our customers, assisting Engineering personnel in assuring alterations and repairs are accomplished in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations and ensuring quality control and release of aircraft meet the West Star Aviation Repair Station Manual and FAA requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
Inspect work of aircraft mechanics performing maintenance, modification, or repair and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft mechanical systems to ensure compliance with Repair Station and FAA standards, procedures and regulations.
Prepare and maintain detailed repair, inspection, investigation, and certification records and reports.
Inspect new, repaired, or modified aircraft to identify damage or defects and to assess airworthiness and conformance to standards, using checklists, hand tools, and test instruments.
Produce, examine, research and review maintenance records and flight logs to determine if service and maintenance checks and overhauls were performed at prescribed intervals.
Oversee, conduct and document flight tests to test equipment, instruments, and systems under a variety of conditions in coordination with Maintenance Technicians.
Ensure, document, and track the competency of persons operating, installing, and repairing aircraft equipment according to Repair Station procedures and FAA regulations.
Conduct logbook research and other duties related to pre-buy activities.
Release aircraft to return aircraft to service.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent
Associates degree in Aviation Technology strongly preferred
FAA Airframe and Powerplant license required
Inspection Authorization (IA) rating is a plus
EXPERIENCE
8 years progressive experience as an aircraft maintenance technician with sign-off authority
4 years aircraft inspection experience with at least 1-year return to service authority
Strong knowledge of FAA requirements, work orders, and the customer billing process
The ability to read electrical and structural prints is recommended
Minimum Requirement

The Inspector I is responsible for enforcement of the various municipal construction, development, nuisance and property maintenance codes adopted by the City, under the administrative direction of the Lead Property Maintenance Inspector within the Planning & Zoning Department.
This is full time inspection and enforcement position to ensure compliance with City municipal codes,
including the property maintenance code, fire code, environmental code, other construction codes and
related ordinances. Work is performed both in the office and in the field and involves considerable
contact with the public and other persons engaged in property maintenance and construction codes.
Work will also involve the preparation of daily reports and records on findings. Work assignments and
instructions are received orally or in writing from a supervisor or staff members. Employees proceed
