Inspects each stage of construction up to completion.
Interprets plans, specifications, and codes and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with all applicable governing codes and regulations.
Monitors construction sites for safety violations.
Prepares Non-Conformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards.
Maintains daily activity logs and reports with photographs, in a manner agreed prior to the work.
Review or prepare interim progress reports for contractor payments.
Monitors contractor-testing activities.
Prepares reports on labor, material, and equipment on site.
Determines construction conforms to plans and specifications.
Conducts quality surveillance of specific quality related activities as necessary.
Assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while complying with Caltrans safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Provide Construction Safety and Security field services, as directed, including but not limited to Site Safety and Security Reviews including for Construction Equipment, Personnel, Work Procedures and Traffic Control.
Coordinate preparation of inspection survey reports, cost estimates and maintenance records.
Timely submittals of these reports and records.
Arranges, coordinates and oversees technical inspections such as electrical, landscaping, soil testing, concrete, and asphalt mixes, and reinforcing steel for conformance to specification requirements.
Coordinates test laboratory activities with onsite Quality Management team as well as Contractor's Quality Control team.

Incoming inspection:
Verify the Manufacturer, Manufacturing part number
Verify the part according to the part drawing
Verify the part marking or Date code / Lot code per instructions
Verify against any other specification as required
Checks the packing list against the items received and the purchase order request
Record the inspection results
Create NCMR report for non-conforming products and moves them to MRB cage
In-process and final inspection of electromechanical assemblies:
Follow the Manufacturing Process Instructions and QC the assemblies
Use the checklist for the products and verify all the check points at the sub-assemblies and
Review and follow the deviations
Create NCMR report for non-conforming products and moves them to MRB cage
Perform any other related task assigned
Education & Experience
Education: Minimum High school Graduate
Experience: Minimum 1 years working experience in Mechanical parts / Assemblies inspection
Skills:
Ability to read and understand the part and assembly drawings
Ability to perform the dimensional and visual inspection per the drawings
Knowledge of industry standard workmanship requirements IPC-A-610 is preferred
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
Ability to use digital calipers, pin gauges and multimeter
Able to lift 50 lb. weight as needed
Basic computer skills for Excel and Outlook
