Join us in the exciting role of providing a Construction Inspector to provide technical services for the VA Healthcare System, Bay Pines, FL. The inspector will provide comprehensive construction inspection support services to the VA Bay Pines FM office for the renovation of the hemodialysis area of Bay Pines Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Job Type: Full-time Temporary 4 to 6-month assignment (See project duration below)
*This position includes PTO, 401(k) eligibility on day one, Health, Dental, Vision insurance, and paid holidays.
*This position requires a construction background and computer proficiency. Construction QA experience is required.
Project Duration:
This position is a full-time, temporary role for 4 to 6 months, 40 hours per week, commencing in Feb 2026.
Work hours are currently expected to be:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1800-0200 (6 PM to 2 AM)
Tuesday and Thursday 1700-0100. (5 PM to 1 AM) These hours could be adjusted to match the MWF hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
Verifies quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates, and applicable codes and regulations.
Notes deficiencies and deviations from plans; refers serious problems and disagreements in interpretation to the Chief, Projects.
Maintains, updates, and assures the accuracy of inspection records, project documentation, and project files.
Prepare and submit detailed digital inspection reports, including photo documentation and proper formatting protocols
Monitor the contractor's quality control and safety programs
Participate in quality control meetings and safety oversight
Work Environment:
Work will primarily be performed indoors.
Work will be performed after hours as noted above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year for a maximum of three years of the required experience.
NOTE: Experience as a Special Agent Trainee or a Probationary Special Agent does not count toward the one year of Special Agent experience.

• Must be familiar with fine pitch leads, component identification, soldering, bonding and conformal coating applications.
• Previous experience in the manufacture of aerospace electronics highly preferred.
• Must be familiar with ISO9001, AS9100, requirements.
• Must be able to organize, prioritize and multitask.
• Must be a motivated individual with a bias for action.
• Must have basis computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word
• Energetic team player that interfaces well at all levels of an organization.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to visually inspect using a microscope
• Ability to interpret drawing requirements, perform work to inspection instructions
