Job Summary
National Pipe & Plastics, one of the largest PVC pipe producers in North America, is currently seeking a Yard Quality Inspector for the shipping and receiving area. There is a $1000 sign-on bonus for this position with the first $500 paid after the first 3 months of continuous employment and another $500 paid after 6 months of continuous employment.
Job Responsibilities
QA load checks for all loads
Conduct visual inspections for legible print line, gasket defects, chamfer, bell, fading, and any other issues of pipe
Confirm all products being shipped with PO is accurate
Confirm correct product makes it on the truck
Confirm packaging is correct safe and secure for each bundle
Number of boards and banding
Number of pieces per bundle
Identify any physical damage to product from yard handling and report through the proper channels
All other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
High School diploma or GED or equivalent Vocational Training/Certification, other related experience or combination thereof
At least 1 year of related experience, preferred
Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and directions
Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company
Computer literate experienced with Microsoft Office software

Basic Qualifications: * High School Education or GED equivalency. * 1 year experience in a Manufacturing environment * Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (dremel/cut off tooling) and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department.
* Ability and willingness to perform electrical test methods (ohm meter, gauss meter, surge test, hi pot, etc)
* Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation, including functional knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
* Ability and willingness to pass visual acuity exam upon offer.
* Ability and willingness to obtain Braze, Weld and Solder inspection certification as required.

* Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality of products.
* Identify and document non-conforming parts, while using Oracle to maintain inspection records.
* Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirement.
* Use statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required.
* Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
* Assist support functions in root cause analysis.
* Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
* Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up.
* Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of product deficiencies, new processes, or issues.
* Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
* Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
* Participate in and support team initiatives.
* Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.

Desired Qualifications:
* 1-3 years Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
* Basic knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100)
* Basic understanding of special process operations (e.g., brazing / soldering / welding / coating, etc.) as required within department.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.

Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
