Responsibilities The Quality Team Lead will inspect products by using a variety of inspection tools/devices, work instructions and computer to perform a series of inspections to correctly verify incoming parts, in-process and completed assemblies. Verify supplier material certifications, including special processes, and ensure compliance with quality/PO requirements. Creates supporting documentation (data books, certificates of conformance, etc…) Support disposition of discrepant materials (MRB) in accordance with appropriate quality procedures and maintain low inventory of on-hold parts. Verifies first articles from suppliers and internal departments. Prepares and processes records and reports to document supplier/operations performance. Qualify supplier components and/or systems for assuring conforming product. Adheres to calibrations system of inspection, measuring and test equipment. Applies Statistical Quality Control techniques as directed. Assist with interpretation of drawings, specifications and quality requirements. Properly process goods for outside processing, investigates and evaluates component parts returned and nonconforming product. The Quality Team Lead provides effective training to the quality control cell and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained. Work with supervisor to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met. Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the quality control cell. Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Quality management. Work closely with support staff such as Purchasing/Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisor, Materials/Warehouse to resolve issues. Observe, maintain, coordinate and complete standard work. Update production metrics and facilitate regular team communication. Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Quality management. Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities. Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company's Quality System. Basic Qualifications Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, Material Standards, Quality Plans, Control Plans and Inspection Test Plans. Read customer drawings Perform measurements with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and pin gages. Perform rework as appropriate, which may include mask touch-up, material removal with an x-acto knife, burnishing, soldering irons, final finish brush plating, sanding Verify acceptability of rework after completion Identify and mark non-conforming product to ensure it is not delivered Prepare standard and AS9102 First Article Reports as needed Verify certifications and reports are complete and accurate and can be used for final acceptance and certification of product Complete Deliverables for Customers and ensure they are complete and accurate Complete department logs and record yield data as required Perform preventative maintenance as defined by department maintenance schedule Support other work areas or departments as required by production or management. Ability to work overtime as requested Keep work area clean and organized Work Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring available to work during standard business hours and mandatory weekend overtime when needed to meet production goals. Shifts may include weekends when schedule details are provided in advance. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Requirements: Essential Qualifications, Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent One year of PCB manufacturing experience Knowledge of IPC-6012, or IPC-6013 Knowledge of IPC-600 Strong work ethic Ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred Additional Skills: Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Strong knowledge of complex board manufacturing including but not limited to, military rigid and rigid-flex board manufacturing. Understanding of industry standards and specifications (IPC). Able to effectively communicate with management and supervisory staff. Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software. Able to support and implement company safety protocols. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting and performing visual and manual tasks.
