THE WORK:
You'll perform daily field inspections of civil and utility construction, including grading, paving, concrete, storm drains, water, sewer, and traffic improvements.
You'll document contractor progress, verify quantities, and monitor compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes.
You'll prepare detailed daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project records.
You'll coordinate with contractors, engineers, testing labs, and agency representatives to ensure smooth project execution.
You'll ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
You'll participate in pre-construction meetings and punch list/walkthrough inspections.
You'll assist with change order verification and pay application reviews as needed.

$135,000 - $175,000 a year
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois, Minnesota, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Ohio or Washington as set forth below.

Kleinfelder Construction Services is hiring experienced Roadway Inspectors for Caltrans projects across San Diego County. In this role, you'll perform quality assurance inspections on roadway and highway improvement projects, ensuring compliance with project plans and safety standards.
This position includes a company-assigned field vehicle and gas card, allowing you to travel directly to construction sites. Flexibility for extended shifts and night work is required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct and document quality assurance inspections of roadway construction under the direction of the Resident Engineer.
* Interpret and enforce project plans, specifications, and codes to ensure compliance.
* Prepare detailed Daily Inspection Reports, including progress photos.
* Measure, calculate, track, and record pay quantities for monthly estimates.
* Maintain and update field as-built drawings.
* Champion a culture of safety, ensuring all work complies with safety rules and policies.
* Assist the Resident Engineer with change orders, RFIs, submittals, response letters, and construction documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Option 1:
* Two years of post-high school education in:
* Engineering (must include trigonometry, algebra or higher, drafting, computer science, and a physical science course such as physics or chemistry)
* Surveying (must include trigonometry, algebra or higher, drafting, surveying, and computer science)
OR
* One year in California state service performing duties comparable to a Junior Engineering Technician, Range B
AND
* A minimum of four (4) years of roadway construction inspection experience on highways or major public works projects.
Option 2:
* A minimum of six (6) years of roadway construction inspection experience on highways or major public works projects
Preferred Qualifications:
We're especially interested in candidates with:
* BS degree in Civil Engineering or EIT certification.
* Hands-on Caltrans inspection experience.
* Strong knowledge of Caltrans standard plans, specifications, procedures, and Construction Manual.
* Experience inspecting traffic control system compliance.
* Knowledge of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and enforcement.
* Proficiency with construction inspection tools, surveying equipment, and material testing.
* Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat (experience with CAD and Primavera P6 is a plus).
* Effective communication and supervision skills.

Key Responsibilities:
