A typical day might include verification of product conformance to specifications and drawings through a variety of inspection techniques such as precision measurement tools, hand tooling, visual inspection, electrical test tools, and other tools and techniques. Upon completion of production, you will assist in executing testing such as vibration, stress, acoustic, functional, and thermal vacuum on spacecraft components before integration into the vehicle. Typical role responsibilities include:
• Providing a variety of inspections on components as directed by work instructions, drawings, and specifications
• Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to execute productions and test activities and determine if non-conformances exist
• Perform a variety of preparation, in process, verification, and post production/test tasks based on work instructions, drawings, and specifications
• Engage with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement across the production and test cycle to eliminate quality control issues
• Prepare electronic documentation on nonconforming hardware. (Qnote)
• Effective oral and written communications
• This position occasionally requires working off shifts, non-standard work weeks and overtime as needed to complete campaigns on schedule.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Part 145 Quality Control Inspector

Perform the approval for return to service after maintenance or modifications of an aircraft/engine/article in accordance with regulations, to include completion of FAA Form's 8130-3 and 337's when required along with logbook entries. Ensure aircraft or any component returned to service meet type design or properly altered state and in condition for safe flight. Ensure aircraft airworthiness by maintaining safety conditions conforming to standards set by the FAA and company policy. Verify all inspections performed comply with Manufacturer's Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and Air Methods Repair Station Manual.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
* Perform work order opening and closing tasks, preliminary inspections, hidden-damage inspections, statement of work review, and final inspections on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current maintenance data. Enters the return to service / airworthiness release authorization into the aircraft / article's permanent records (logbook) along with a list of the work performed. Review completed production control work packages for completeness and proper signoff, prior to execution of an airworthiness release or issuance of a serviceable tag
* Research aircraft and engine maintenance log pages to ensure compliance with current regulations, manufacture's programs, and the owner / operator's (for 3rd party work in the future) policies and procedures. Validate that any maintenance performed for 14 CFR Part 135 air carriers under a CAMP or AAIP program (to include RII inspections) in accordance with that carrier's FAA approved inspection manual.
* Inspect for airworthiness and quality of aircraft maintenance and alterations to include overseeing in process inspections, adjustments, repairs, or modifications made to aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and final product as well as issuing "OK to Close" for aircraft component parts. Ensure all tasks completed adhere to the manufactures, company, and regulatory policy and procedures. Responsible to ensure that all work performed by all company technicians assigned to a work order (supervise maintenance), is performed to current applicable FAA standards and results in an product that is airworthy and safe for flight.
* Ability to read and interpret complicated drawings, specifications, purchase orders, statement of work and standards to determine quality status. Must possess the skill and experience to use precision measuring instruments in a precise, accurate and repeatable manner.
* Support production and management with failure and nonconforming material data recording and reporting.
* Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities for the quality program.
* Supervise the application for Airworthiness Certificates, Ferry Permits and Field Approvals with the FAA.

Essential Responsibilities:
Perform inspection and release of product manufactured at the Longmont facility.
Support efforts to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of our Quality Control and product release procedures.
Have comfort and proven technical abilities to ensure products match drawings/prints.
Contribute to the effort to maintain all documentation and quality records for product inspection and release to ensure compliance including N299 Nuclear standards.
Interacts with peers, manufacturing supervisors, engineering to help resolve technical questions and potential issues.
Provide input to controlled documentation related to product release and inspection, assist with maintaining daily SQDC boards.
Requires some personal initiative and occasional ingenuity, planning, scheduling, organizing and prioritization of workload.
May provide advice, training, & guidance to lower-level team members on projects
Provide training and communication related to Manufacturing caused defects to shop teams.
Document and record repeated issues, track and trend findings and collaborate with assembly supervisor trends discovered in QC of products.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Ability to work 1st shift (flexible start)
High School diploma or equivalent
At least three years of relevant experience with technical products and exposure to quality control processes.
Proficient with computers including Windows and Microsoft office products (Excel is a must)
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Pay Transparency:
The base hourly pay range for this position is
$25.82 - $30.62/hr.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
This position is currently offered at a Level 2 pay rate. However, there is potential for a higher compensation if your skills and experience align.

As Chief Inspector, you'll have the authority and responsibility for managing, supervising, coordinating, training and scheduling all inspection functions for maintenance release.
What you'll do:
Ensure compliance with the Repair Station and Quality Manual (RSQM) in the performance of inspection duties.
Ensure the standards and system for receiving, preliminary, hidden damage, in-process and final inspections of articles undergoing maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration are performed in accordance with the applicable maintenance data and the RSQM.
Maintain and Implement QSP 7.5.3 Identification and Traceability.
Determine whether the requested maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration on articles received for work can be accomplished within the applicable maintenance data, despite any other damage or discrepancies noted.
Ensure that work performed on articles under the authority of the repair station is appropriately approved for return to service on the maintenance release document.
Support the Quality Manager with Audits.
Determine when Articles are beyond repair.
Initiate the process that determines whether an article should be reported under the Suspected Unapproved Parts program and for filing reports under that program.
Ensure Scrap parts are segregated in a manner that will prevent their use in maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration pending final disposition from the customer.
Review and approve operation routers, technical plans and special process parameters, etc.
Communicates with vendors and customers as needed.
Ensure personnel have appropriate knowledge or are properly trained prior to assigning inspection tasks.
Ensure inspection personnel certifications and qualifications are maintained current.
Assists with special projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications
Two or more years of experience working in an FAA 145 repair station or in a similar Quality Control position in an FAA regulated environment.
Two or more years of experience with inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations are being performed.
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Desired Skills
A&P License preferred
Aviation accessory and/or component experience.
Experience with turbo-prop or turbo-fan and/or NDT.
Familiar with FAA Order 8130.21
