Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is: To verify property occupancy. To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant. We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors. Responsibilities Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes. Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned. Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards. Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments. Complete a short form in an app. Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory. Requirements (to be considered you must have the following): Computer with an internet connection Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas) Smartphone (Android or iPhone) Printer Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. The Opportunity Mechanical Inspector at a growth-oriented energy company. Reporting to the Chief Inspector, this position is responsible for supporting and executing a comprehensive mechanical integrity program focused on the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of fixed equipment across the refinery. This is a highly technical role requiring a strong working knowledge of API and ASME codes, Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodology, and damage mechanism identification. The Mechanical Inspector will lead and perform inspections, review and interpret NDE results, and develop detailed repair recommendations for pressure vessels, piping, relief devices, tanks, and other critical assets. This role plays a key part in supporting turnaround planning, equipment reliability improvements, and long-term asset strategies. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, a proactive approach, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance. General Responsibilities: Construction Inspectors spend the majority of their time working on projects performing construction related inspection requiring specific certifications and/or experience.
