This position is responsible for creating a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, visitors, and property of the Inspira Health Network. Securityofficers will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. Inspira securityofficers will provide excellent customer service and will be able to competently work with people who are under stress and/or in need of medical assistance. Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to safety, security, workplace violence and emergency management.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
6 months of security experience.
(3) years' experience in law enforcement, private security or investigations preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Valid driver's license required.
Basic SecurityOfficer Certification (IAHSS) required within 1 year of hire.
Inspira Health approved de-escalation and common language training required within 100 days of hire.
American Heart Association BLS required within 100 days.
Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to effectively interact with hospital employees, visitors, patients, contractors, and volunteers.
Ability to effectively manage the responsibilities and duties of the position and the department.

Receive clients, patients, and visitors or guests entering Center; provide information, directions, and assistance, guarding client/patient confidentiality.
Oversee center reception/waiting area, parking lot, and dosing area security.
Maintain familiarly with Center evacuation plan.
Routinely do security check at the OTP clinic.
Check exterior lighting during pre-dawn shift hours for security reasons.
Monitor Center parking areas for safety and compliance with parking policies and rules.
Monitor fire extinguisher tags monthly as necessary.
Complete emergency lighting testing monthly as necessary.
Escort patients and staff as necessary.
Communicate with supervisor and/or other security staff regarding safety violations and potential problems.
Attend staff and other meetings as assigned.
Participate in training activities as assigned or approved.
Meet regularly with supervisor to exchange pertinent information and receive supervision.
Maintain positive communication with patients, clients, visitors, and staff.
Enforce the various security policies.
Assist with training of new security staff.
Complete Waived testing on patients/consumers as necessary.
Complete Breathalyzer testing on patients/consumers as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge and skills in basic safety/security principles, general Center resources and information, English language, oral and written communication, and time management.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver's license in accordance with HCI motor vehicle policy.
Obtain and maintain current CPI certification.
Obtain and maintain current American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification.
