Performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures for radiological diagnosis or treatment of patients of all ages. Performs multi-modality procedures using computer processing skills, injection skills as needed, and other related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a radiologist or other credentialed specialist. * Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served. * Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required. * Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills. * Evaluates, prepares, positions and observes patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety. * Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines. * Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned. * Maintains competencies and meets or exceeds standards for each skill performed. * Maintains required certification for each skill. What We Require: Education: High school graduate or GED and Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology, other associated Imaging technologies, or other approved training in Computerized Tomography required. Experience: CT experience strongly preferred. Licensure/Certification: AARRT registry, registry eligible. If not registered in CT, must become CT registered within 2 years of hire date. AHA BLS-HCP required; May be required to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit. Other: Good interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments. Our team of technicians works on systems that help with temperature regulation, mechanical layouts, and troubleshooting industrial equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES Keeps current on products concerning installation and operation of mechanical systems. Provides technical support to customers on assigned projects.
