Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain medium voltage (1kV-35kV) systems and, where applicable, 69kV Navy systems. Inspect, repair, and test a wide range of electrical components including underground cable systems, switches (oil, SF6, air), transformers, ground grid systems, and fuses. Troubleshoot electrical issues using specialized tools: multimeters, meggers, ammeters, cable locators, fault finders, high-potential test equipment, etc. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical manuals. Follow all safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E standards, and PPE requirements. No live (hot) work is permitted without prior written authorization. Respond to electrical service calls and emergencies, ensuring systems remain operational.
