Job Summary

SUMMARY
Responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems or components in school
district buildings, ensuring they function properly and according to local and national fire codes. Works and
coordinates with Fire Sprinkler Technicians and any other fire service contractors when required.

The ability to pass an initial and periodic physical examination as determined by the physical examination requirements for the Job Classification as follows:
Mobile Aerial Platform operation (MAP)
Powered Industrial Truck operation (PIT)
Respirator and other PPE use
Can lift up to 35 lbs.
The manual dexterity and mobility to climb ladders, scaffolds, antennas, and rooftops.
A current EPA Refrigerant Recovery Card, Class II or higher.
Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license
You may also be required to possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License for specific task(s)
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. As a federal enclave, membership in the union is required.
Licensed in Refrigeration or other HVAC based field desired.
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, email, and electronic time recording.
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, such as Maximo.
Experience operating and maintaining mobile aerial platforms and powered industrial trucks.
Experience in general maintenance and construction.
Must be able to obtain an interim Secret security clearance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated Secret security clearance.
Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain - side hills and slopes.
Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer to include weekends and holidays.
Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
