Position Summary:
American Equipment, a leader in in-house crane fabrication, parts, service, and material handling is hiring a Crane Service Technician for the Pueblo/Colorado Springs, CO area. Join our team and be part of a 50+ year legacy to provide unmatched customer service!
Responsibilities:
Perform on-site preventative maintenance, repairs, and modernizations on electric overhead traveling cranes
Spend time consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
Generate sales leads during service calls
Accurately and neatly document on the service report for the work performed.
New crane wiring, assembly, installation, and start-up.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Travel may be required in the greater Pueblo/Colorado Springs region. Work vehicle provided.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of AC/DC theory, as well as the ability to troubleshoot 480VAC 3 phase motor control systems. A.A. degree or Equivalent vocational-training or experience is preferred.
A minimum of 2-year hands-on electro-mechanical maintenance
Aptitude for both electrical and mechanical environments as well as familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment
Willingness to work overtime
Possession of a valid driver's license with good driving record
Must pass drug-screen and background check
Strong communication skills
Proven commitment to safety
Comfort with working at heights
Experience in Variable Frequency drives and PLC programming a plus
Crane maintenance experience a plus.

Work inside IDFs, MDFs, server rooms, and data halls
Perform rack/stack support, patch panel work, dressing, labeling, and documentation
Follow strict pathway practices, bend-radius protection, and data center cable management standards
Assist with Fluke/Cert testing and infrastructure quality verification
Outside Plant (OSP) - Fiber Backbone Support
Support underground and aerial crews pulling backbone fiber
Work around handholes, manholes, conduit/innerduct, vaults, and risers
Assist splicing teams by prepping pathways and staging routes
Mission-Critical & Data Center Requirements
Follow MOP/SOP/EOP procedures, change control processes, and restricted access protocols

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates initial Model for the erection drawings from architectural/structural drawings and other trade documents (Steel, Mechanical, etc.)
May be required to draw/check job specific steel assemblies for production and erection hardware
Works closely with the internal D & E team and Architect to ensure model and drawings are complete and accurate containing all the information needed to properly assemble, cast, and erect the product

Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform the removal, installation, and startup of new residential HVAC systems
Install HVAC related equipment and accessories in accordance to the manufacturers specifications. Install gas lines, flue pipes, and wiring for low voltage wiring applications as well as run flue liners.
Install copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing.
Design, fabricate and install various ducts and duct fittings as necessary.
Properly connect gas lines to heating equipment. Train, coach and mentor apprentices if needed.
Install and program all versions of thermostats.
Install, wire and plumb all IAQ products.
Work closely with the Install Coordinator and fellow InstallationTechnicians to provide clients with excellent service as outlined in department policies and procedures
Maintain a high standard of clean-up before leaving any job site
Be sure that all necessary touch-up work and clean-up is completed before leaving the job site
Working as a team with the crew helper to get the job done professionally, efficiently, and in a safe manner
Request necessary parts and equipment in advance to ensure the installation truck is loaded properly with all materials needed to complete each job
Responsible for the vehicle upkeep, record logs, and driving of vehicle; valid driver's license required
Other duties may be assigned
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required
3+ years retro install experience; 1 year retro lead experience preferred.
EPA License (required)
Must have ability to use iPad for timekeeping, and documenting job notes and follow up.
Must have a clear driving record and valid license.
Must own the trade tools including hand tools, multimeter and torches, with most detectors, reclaimers and power tools being provided. Tool purchase assistance is available.
