Review, validate, and create engineering / technical documentation. Provide Tier III Field Service support and troubleshooting. Verifying / Validating installations, maintenance and operation of all types of control devices and industrial type equipment. Service, sell, and install client and stock gates in residential and commercial applications, per Company processes Service, sell, and install access control systems, including but not limited to actuator gate operators, swing and slide pad mounted gate operators, telephone entry systems, and data readers, per Company processes Create and present multiple solutions that meet client needs while delivering exceptional customer service Record detailed information about the work completed, materials used, and customer interactions to ensure accurate reporting and follow-up Coordinate arrival times with clients Record keeping to include but not be limited to: client billing, time records, credit card purchases, training, and vehicle inventory on service vehicles. Check us out: A Day in the Life of the Building of the Future - ******************* ZMNrDJviY] What you will do: The Test Technician will work on the Engineering Lab team that is part of the Unitary Products Group (UPG) for Johnson Controls. In this division we design, test, manufacture and assemble heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment for the light commercial and residential markets. Johnson Controls has two plants for UPG with approximately 1000 employees each: one in Norman, OK and the other in Wichita, KS. This position will be located in our Norman, OK plant and will report to the Engineering Lab Manager. How you will do it: Prepare and install HVAC test units in the test facility to simulate field installation conditions. This includes but is not limited to evacuation and charging, duct connection, electrical connection, etc. Set up test facilities and connect data acquisition instruments according to general instructions and per test standard requirements. Analyze test data and make modifications and adaptations to the test unit based upon analysis of the data. Utilize computer software programs as required to run the test facility, conduct testing, collect, and analyze test data. Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean work area. Other duties as required. What we look for: High school diploma or equivalent and vocational technical training in HVAC is preferred. A minimum of two years HVAC related work/education experience. Thorough understanding of the refrigeration cycle, including function, definition and /or purpose of the following: Compressor, condenser, metering device, evaporator, superheat, sub cooling, BTU, etc. Demonstrated working knowledge and skills in such areas as reading wiring diagrams, modifying unit wiring and controls, instrumentation, electromechanical troubleshooting, and modification of prototypes. Ability to braze using Oxy/Acetylene torch. Ability to analyze data and make decisions based on analysis. Ability to lift equipment, compressors units, motors, sheet metal parts, etc., up to 50lbs. Ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems. WHAT YOU'LL DO The Installation Technician 4 will perform installation tasks for AVI-SPL contracted projects including but not limited to: cable pulls, cable terminations, system equipment and components, rack fabrication and wiring, layout for equipment and metal fabrication. The Installation Technician 4 will be expected to lead and direct installation crews (internal or subcontracted) on large and complex projects and engage in specific system testing by coordinating and reporting progress to Project Manager ensuring projects achieve time, scope, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction requirements.
