Role Summary: The Mechanical Field Service Technician troubleshoots and repairs Flowserve's pumps and equipment for our customers in industries such as oil and gas, chemical, nuclear, coal, and wastewater industries. This challenging position requires an experienced mechanic who can provide confident expertise in the face of operational problems. The Mechanical Field Service Tech will repair and install equipment, oversee start-up, conduct maintenance, and monitor the performance of our products at our customers' locations. While the Tech may be the only Flowserve representative on site, the Tech can call upon the resources of Flowserve's Field Service Team to ensure that our products are operating at peak performance. Flowserve counts on the Field Service Tech to be an indispensable resource to our customers, creating a lasting competitive advantage for our products and services.
Locations: Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, NE area.
This position requires to work 90% of the time in the field, but mostly will travel for short trips (2 to 4 days during the week). Only twice a year it might be required to be away for 3 weeks at a time (1 in spring and the other one in the fall).
Responsibilities:
Make direct, in-person service calls in response to customer requests.
Assess mechanical problems and take actions to resolve promptly.
Work side-by-side with our customer's personnel, and lead work crews as required.
Oversee the full cycle of repair: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly.
Ensure that equipment is installed successfully and on schedule.
Check equipment prior to start-up and assess start-up performance.
Monitor the maintenance and performance of Flowserve equipment.
Train customers in the proper procedures for operating and maintaining Flowserve products.
Collaborate with Flowserve Sales Engineers to ensure a coordinated approach to serving our customers.
Collaborate effectively with the supporting organizations of Flowserve, including the repair centers, customer service, and sales engineering.
Maintain organized, accurate, timely records, including daily reports, jobs quoted, jobs performed, and time and materials charged.

Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Five or more years of experience in mechanical field service, specifically repairing pumps.
Experienced in removing and installing pump bases (epoxy grout, including pressure grout)
Knowledgeable about the industrial applications and operations of pumps.
Must be a self-starter with good follow-through, capable of working independently with little supervision.
Experienced in successfully leading work crews.
Able to explain mechanical problems and articulate the thinking process behind recommendations.
Must be good at complex problems at technical level.
Able to remain calm and even-tempered in the face of challenges, demands, and deadlines.
Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics.
Capable in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Skilled at writing clear, concise emails with a professional tone

Field Machining / Welding experience.
Skilled in the repair of large, high-end, single-stage and multi-stage pumps centrifugal pumps (OH, BB, VTP).
Knowledge of BB5 Barrel Pump tear down and assembly is preferred.
Knowledge of API 610 and 686 is a plus.
Experience as a foreman / general foreman/ lead hand during large turnarounds.

Cable Services Company, headquartered in Williamsport, PA, performs construction and cable installation projects within a five to six state area in the Northeast region of the US. Project hours vary by project and can be influenced by weather. Frequent overnight travel is required along with overtime in order to meet project related deadlines.

A Fiber Splicer will perform cable splicing in the air, underground, indoors and outdoors. In addition this position requires frequent travel in which the employee would be away from home. This position requires overnight work during consumer non-peak usage hours (Midnight to 7am) along with shared weekend on-call status for emergency restoration.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Ability to distinguish between colors
Experience reading design maps, fiber schematics and basic electronic designs

Zito is looking for a full-time Fiber Splicer to be responsible for the terminating, splicing, documenting and testing of all fiber optic cables within Zito Media's fiber optic networks and their related equipment with the end goal of providing maximum operating efficiency. Also responsible for customer premise installations, including racking, cabling, bonding, and grounding. Coordinate fiber activities with other departments and the Manager of Outside Plant. Perform ring cuts on live fiber without affecting existing services. Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters. Terminates, splices, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to division standards. Provides accurate equipment location, splicing and terminating records for the fiber database. Assists the Construction and Engineering departments in accepting and turning up the fiber network. Builds bays, racking, jumper ducts and other network elements needed for the installing of fiber optic equipment and patch and panels. Monitor, communicate and perform corrective actions to fix problems affecting any fiber or fiber related equipment. Install demarcation enclosures, switches and other telecom equipment.
**Skills Required:**
* Familiar with standards and best practices for premise entry and electronic equipment installation.

Cable Services Company, headquartered in Williamsport, PA, performs construction and cable installation projects within a five to six state area in the Northeast region of the US. Project hours vary by project and can be influenced by weather. Frequent overnight travel is required along with overtime in order to meet project related deadlines.

A Fiber Splicer will perform cable splicing in the air, underground, indoors and outdoors. In addition this position requires frequent travel in which the employee would be away from home. This position requires overnight work during consumer non-peak usage hours (Midnight to 7am) along with shared weekend on-call status for emergency restoration.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Prep and hang fiber optic enclosures, nodes and related equipment

Read design maps, fiber schematics and basic electronic designs
Operate aerial lift and other related equipment to perform job functions
Required to be on-call for emergency restoration
Frequently communicate with management on workload status
May occasionally perform routine construction work such as pulling rope/cables, climbing ladders, using hand tools, digging with a shovel, etc.
Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment according to established company standards and procedures (ie timesheet, truck report, expense report)
Responsible for assigned company vehicle, tools, materials and equipment
Perform work in a safe manner and comply with all established company safety policies and procedures
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned in order to help team complete a project
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables
High school diploma or GED
Experience working in a bucket truck at heights in excess of 30-40 ft.
Proficiency using related splicing equipment including fusion splicers, OTDR, optical power meters, fiber identifiers and all related splicing tools
Ability to distinguish between colors
Experience reading design maps, fiber schematics and basic electronic designs
Must possess exceptional organizational skills and be detailed oriented
Must be able to occasionally move materials/equipment weighing up to 80 pounds
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision
Preferred Education and Experience
5+ years of experience splicing all types of fiber optic cables
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Valid driver s license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a criminal background screen and drug test
Work Environment
While performing this job, the employee may be occasionally required to stand, walk handle or operate object, tools or controls
