The Install Technician is responsible for installing, terminating and commissioning a wide range of physical security products and systems. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times. Install various physical security devices and systems according to engineered drawings. Must be willing to travel up to 60% of the time, sometimes on short notice. Must be able to identify and resolve issues that would have a negative impact on job productivity. Thoroughly complete all necessary paperwork relating to job tickets. Maintain a safe, clean working environment at all times. Communicate all activity to the job Project Manager or Field Supervisor in a timely manner. Maintain the condition and cleanliness of any company provided vehicle. Maintain a safe driving record and report any incidents or near misses to management immediately. Attend any product or safety training that is required. Experience & Knowledge High School diploma or equivalent. Mastery of all install technician responsibilities. Minimum 3-5 years of field installation experience in the security environment. Solid understanding of copper and fiber data communication. (Fiber, transport equipment, etc.) Experienced in multiple Access Control platforms. Experienced in various analytics and / or other video products. Experienced in the installation of door hardware such as strikes. Experienced in reading and comprehending engineered drawings. Experienced in the marking up, or “red lining” of drawings post install. Experience working in NERC-CIP environments a plus Experience in substation operations and protocols a plus Proficient in the use of a computer, with MS Word and MS Excel skill sets. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with other UT employees, the PMO and our customers. In this role you will operate equipment used in the receiving and distribution of electrical power, perform switching operations to distribute electrical power throughout the facility, and perform inspection on substations and transformers. Essential Responsibilities: Maintain 90-day areas per Federal and State requirements including inspections and inventory. Enter clean room as needed to manage waste requests and specific satellite accumulation areas. Track and manage approved waste requests including empty and full container movement. Follow GF Regulated Waste Program Operate forklift, pallet jack, drum trucks and pick up trucks on site. Load trailers with containerized waste, empty drums, etc. Managing lab packing inventory and what is approved for shipment via profiles. Consolidating drum heels for shipment. Consolidating appropriate waste streams into on site treatment.
