As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for the fabrication of custom sheet metal components used in a variety of industrial applications. You will work with precision, attention to detail, and efficiency to ensure all parts are fabricated to meet client specifications and quality standards. What You'll Be Doing As a Lead Installer/Fabricator, your core responsibilities will include: Fabricate sheet metal components from raw materials accordingto project specifications: Use hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery to cut, bend, punch, drill, and shape sheet metal Assemble fabricated parts and perform final checks for quality and accuracy Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to ensure precise fabrication of Components Perform welding, riveting, and soldering as needed to complete assemblies and parts Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly cared for and stored Measure and inspect fabricated parts to ensure they meet the required dimensions and quality standards Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and company guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment Assist in the setup and operation of fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, and laser cutters Troubleshoot and resolve any fabrication issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production flow Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on fabrication equipment as necessary Assist in organizing the team for all activities Coordinating with the Team Lead for efficient and quality fabrication of customer products In addition, you will also be expected to maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with all regulations . What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you should have the following: Qualifications: 2+ years of previous experience in sheet metal fabrication or related work Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication or a related field Proficiency with metalworking machinery and hand tools, including shears, press brakes, and welders Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Good knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, or Stick welding preferred) Ability to measure and cut materials with high accuracy Mechanical aptitude and the ability to solve fabrication issues as they arise Strong organizational and time-management skills Willingness to work as part of a team to meet project deadlines Ability to follow all safety procedures and work guidelines Able to travel for 50-75 % of the time Good driving history Valid driver's license Skills: Previous experience with HVAC systems Experience with metal fabrication machinery Strong use of mathematics Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches, and work specifications. You will be primarily providing installation of stairlifts both inside and outside of the home. Requirements: Prefer 1 year of carpentry / construction skills including electrical skills (the ability to add or move outlets). A box truck, cargo van, full size pickup or full size SUV w/trailer. Current or ability to obtain general liability insurance and workers compensation insurance or exemption depending on the state (we can assist). Must be willing to travel. Required overnight stays from Monday - Friday. Both in state and out of state. Must have all necessary tools for the job including: Box wrenches, Allen wrenches, 12” Miter Saw, Nut Driver Set and Drill Driver Extension What's in it for me: This is a 1099 contractors position Stairlift installation compensation averages around $250-$350 and requires between 2-4 hours to install. Can be slightly more or less depending on the job. Occasionally we will install curved stairlifts with an average compensation around $600 requiring about 4-6 hours to install.
