What your day-to-day as a Rigging Technician II at Fermilab will look like: Work one mile underground on a rotating two-shift schedule (10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, including weekends). A shift differential is paid for second shift. Execute rigging and lifting operations within the cleanroom and cryostat using small and large overhead cranes, chain hoists, winches, tuggers, and specialty lifting equipment. Ensure secure attachment and movement of large detector components using approved lifting gear, spreader bars, slings, and custom fixtures. Assist with the movement, installation, and positioning of critical infrastructure systems including electronics racks, cryogenic tanks, floor platforms, and cable trays.
