As the Executive Compensation Analyst, you will be part of a highly specialized research team focused on a key area of corporate governance that is increasingly important to institutional investors - executive pay. In this role, you will be a source of expertise and guidance internally for other analysts and externally in interfacing with clients and issuers. The candidate should be familiar with market compensation practices, including gold standard governance practices, and how governance issues affect investor voting decisions around pay proposals.
We'll trust you to
* Research proxy statements for high profile/contentious U.S. company shareholder meetings, focusing on executive compensation proposals.
* Complete written analyses detailing ISS vote recommendations and rationale related to compensation issues.
* Support the ISS standard research team staff in their analyses and review staff's work within the compensation policy framework.
* Lead and/or participate in ISS policy formulation relating to executive compensation.
* Respond to client and company inquiries to explain ISS' compensation policies and model methodology and answer questions as necessary.
* As requested, work with Marketing and Sales to promote our compensation policies to the industry.
* Interface with technology tools to conduct accurate and meaningful analysis.
* Recruit and train full-time and temporary research staff on executive compensation policies and methodologies.
* As appropriate, maintain and update ISS' existing quantitative models.

ISS is seeking a Corporate Governance Research Analyst to join our Latin American Research team to complete basic and advanced analytical governance research of companies assigned to the Brazilian market during the spring annual meeting season, starting in January 2026 for a term ending in early May 2026 (there could be some fluctuation in start and end dates).
The Corporate Governance Research Analyst performs governance research and complete proxy analyses for shareholder meetings of publicly-traded companies (focused on the Brazilian market). There is a requirement for fluency in Portuguese, in addition to fluency in English.
Responsibilities
Read and understand company's filings with countries' regulators, as well as SEC filings (20-Fs, 6-ks) and other documents disclosed by publicly-traded companies (e.g. corporate governance reports) to distill financial, industry, and corporate governance information to draft analyses and issue proxy vote recommendations based on ISS' policy guidelines (available at issgovernance.com/policy).
Check and ensure that the accurate company's data information has been collected including, but not limited to company's financials, directors' profiles, remuneration data, and auditors fees to be used in proxy analysis reports.
Write timely and accurate reports, in accordance with ISS procedures and policy guidelines for the respective markets.
Qualifications
Strong analytical abilities and some knowledge of corporate governance issues.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, familiarity with data information, a self-driven work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak weeks (March & April).
Ability to work within a team-oriented environment and communicate with various internal parties
Familiarity with Latin America countries' regulators and stock exchanges, as well as SEC filings.
Bachelor's degree or higher, plus relevant work experience preferred in governance, accounting, law, or other corporate fields.

Work Schedule: This role follows a 5-days a week in office schedule.
