We are seeking a passionate and experienced Pre-K Lead Teacher with a CDA credential and 2-3 years of experience in early childhood education. The ideal candidate will lead a Pre-K classroom focused on promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in a nurturing and engaging environment. This role requires collaboration, strong communication skills, and an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for preschool-aged children (ages 3-5).
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning & Instruction:
Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
Use creative teaching strategies such as storytelling, music, dramatic play, art, and games to engage learners.
Plan and lead both indoor and outdoor educational activities, including hands-on learning and play-based instruction.
Foster curiosity, creativity, and school readiness skills in children.
Classroom Management & Safety:

Manage and redirect classroom behaviors by setting clear rules, using positive guidance, and modeling respectful behavior.

Child Observation & Assessment:
Track children's academic, behavioral, physical, and social progress using observational notes, assessments, and documentation tools.

Maintain up-to-date records and provide regular progress updates to parents and caregivers.
Parent & Family Communication:
Build strong relationships with families through daily communication, regular conferences, and written updates.
Communicate openly about children's progress, strengths, needs, and any observed concerns.
Encourage parent engagement and involvement in classroom activities and events.
Collaboration & Professionalism:
Work cooperatively with assistant teachers, floaters, and administrative staff to maintain smooth classroom operations.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and curriculum planning sessions.
Maintain compliance with center policies, licensing regulations, and safety guidelines at all times.
Support and model the school's mission and values through professionalism and teamwork.
Additional Duties:
Supervise and assist children with toileting needs and transitions.
Clean and organize the classroom, materials, and shared spaces daily.
Assist with preparing and serving meals/snacks.
Manage classroom conflicts and crises calmly and appropriately.
Ensure daily logs, parent communication tools (e.g., Brightwheel), and safety checklists are completed accurately.
Qualifications:
CDA (Child Development Associate) required.
2-3 years of classroom experience working with Pre-K children in a licensed childcare setting.
Strong knowledge of child development, early learning standards, and best practices for preschool education.
Excellent communication, classroom management, and team collaboration skills.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and remain active throughout the day.

The Elementary School ELA Teacher is a highly qualified, state certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Elementary School ELA Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs. Elementary School ELA Teachers monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system. They actively work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance each student's learning toward established goals. Elementary School ELA Teachers typically work from home but must travel occasionally throughout the year to various school functions, such as state testing or as otherwise required by the school.
This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
Commitment to personalizing learning for all students

Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from principal and coach
Maintains grade book ensuring student academic integrity, makes student placement and promotion decisions, and alerts administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
Prepares students for high stakes standardized tests
Understands that a primary responsibility is to establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicates with and responds to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
Supports learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment that is in line with academy policies and procedures
Travels as required (on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time) for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and as required by school
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree AND
Active state teaching license AND
Ability to clear required background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATION:
Experience working with proposed age group.
Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment.
Experience with online learning platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions.
Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers.
Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum.
Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

Afterschool Teacher
Instructional assistant job in Hammond, LA
The Afterschool Teacher position is located at the Hammond Recreation Center, responsible for assisting in organization and operation of afterschool activities, supervising classroom staff, providing direction in educational and recreational activities onsite and offsite at Zemurray Park, actively participating with the students participating in the program. The afterschool program is designed to provide academic, recreational, and health and wellness activities for children in grades 3 to 8. The teacher will engage participants in fun activities in a safe environment, as well as enjoyable physical activities, healthy snacks, and a nutritious dinner. The teacher will also facilitate the completion of homework and assist with tutorial services. The candidate must maintain a positive business relationship with other staff members, parents and children. The duties of this position must be performed as a member of a management team reflecting the policy and procedures of the center. The candidate must understand and adhere to the center's policy on parent and staff communications maintaining strict confidentiality. It also ensures no preference or prejudice is shown toward certain children over others.
Examples of Duties
* Help students with homework, tutoring, leading and teaching of one or more activity classes of the afterschool program, including: nature study, arts and crafts, sports, games, music, special features, or events.
* Physically participating in all activities with youth.
* Acting as an advisor, counselor, manager of a group of participants.
* Communicating, enforcing, and adhering to rules and regulations for operation, safety and welfare of participants.

* At least 2 years' experience working with youth, in a structured program setting.
* Shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.
* Must be able to be present during the entirety of program.
