Job Description Providing students in classroom activities using specific materials/methods designed by the special education teacher and support personnel. Collaborate with teachers and support personnel for the purpose of assisting in the evaluation of students' progress and/or implementing students' objectives. Assist in the implementation and follow through of physical and behavior management programs. Supervise individual students, classroom, library, playground activities providing a safe and positive learning environment. Assist students with self-help skills, including personal care such as lifting/positioning, feeding, bathroom needs and personal hygiene. Providing assistant with students with personal care accommodations, including nebulizing, catheterizing and suctioning. Assist students with physical and behavioral management programs, including monitoring in-school suspension or time-out, removing or restraining students for disruptive behavior. Experience working with adolescents and/or in educational settings, ability to assist with development of reading, math, and writing skills, sound judgment. You will need to be Paraprofessional Certified by the state of Illinois.
