We are looking for a talented Special Education Teacher for the school year.
Hourly Rate Range: $34.00-$47.00 per hour
Responsibilities would include:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
Provide differentiated instruction in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings.
Adapt lesson plans, curriculum, and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Assess and monitor student progress using data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success.
Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and parent-teacher conferences.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and IDEA guidelines.
Implement behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education from an accredited program.
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Endorsement (issued by the Illinois State Board of Education - ISBE).
LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement required.
Experience with IEP development and implementation.
Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required.

Normal Work Day:

These positions may begin/end with very little notice. The District sets the total paid hours for each position based on the recommendation of the Director of Teaching and Learning.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
May be required to be certified to administer medication. Required to take Chapter 103 Training __ Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (includes preventative strategies, de-escalation skills, and communication techniques) which will be provided through internal training. May receive other training(s) as required.
OBJECTIVE:
Assist classroom teacher in helping students to increase their academic and behavioral goals, and social skills.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Under direction of professional staff, supervise and assist students, individually or in group settings as follows:
Responsible for students with academic, social and emotional needs
May include working one to one with student to complete assigned tasks
Ability to support data collection systems under teacher directions
May need to assist in the restroom or with personal hygiene
Regular attendance to ensure consistency with students
Other duties as may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates are required to have a high school diploma or GED.
Bilingual preferred or highly desirable.

Scattergood Friends School and Farm seeks an engaging math teacher to join our team of progressive educators. They would teach two math courses from September through the end of April.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teach two math courses.
Plan and deliver instruction, as well as measure and report progress to facilitate student development.
Communicate frequently with students and school staff in ways that nurture a healthy learning experience for students.
Model the values of Scattergood Friends School.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's or higher degree in math or related field (preferred).
Ability to design and implement courses that motivate and engage students.
Secondary teaching experience (preferred).
Proficiency with Google Suite.

St. Mary School in Sterling is a PreK-8th-grade school. We are seeking a reliable Substitute Teacher to help us fill gaps in our schedule. Occasionally, we will require long-term subs for extended teacher absences. Candidates are required to have a four-year degree. If the degree is not in teaching, you will need to acquire a Whiteside County Sub certificate. If the degree is in teaching, a copy of your teaching certificate is required. The ideal candidate will uphold the mission and values of Catholic education, foster a nurturing classroom environment, and deliver instruction aligned with the school's academic and spiritual goals.

KEY Responsibilities:
Provide instruction based on lesson plans prepared by the regular teacher.
Maintain classroom order and promote a positive, respectful, and faith-centered environment.
Incorporate Catholic values into interactions and classroom management.
Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
Supervise students in various settings, including the classroom, lunchroom, and outdoor recess areas.
Communicate effectively with school staff and leave a summary of the day for the returning teacher.
Requirements Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required.
A Valid teaching credential or substitute permit is preferred.
Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred.
Practicing Catholic or committed to supporting the mission of Catholic education.
Ability to follow lesson plans, manage a classroom, and adapt to a range of grade levels (PreK-8).
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualities:
Understanding of and commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Experience working in faith-based or private school environments.
Flexibility, reliability, and a collaborative spirit.
Working Conditions:
School hours are typically from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm; however, they may vary.
Must be able to supervise and interact with young children for extended periods.
May be called on short notice depending on staffing needs.
