Paraprofessional: Under the supervision of a classroom teacher the paraprofessional will provide instructional assistance to students in need of academic intervention services. Job Description • Providing students in classroom activities using specific materials/methods designed by the special education teacher and support personnel. • Collaborate with teachers and support personnel for the purpose of assisting in the evaluation of students' progress and/or implementing students' objectives. • Assist in the implementation and follow through of physical and behavior management programs. • Supervise individual students, classroom, library, playground activities providing a safe and positive learning environment. • Assist students with self-help skills, including personal care such as lifting/positioning, feeding, bathroom needs and personal hygiene. • Providing assistant with students with personal care accommodations, including nebulizing, catheterizing and suctioning. • Assist students with physical and behavioral management programs, including monitoring in-school suspension or time-out, removing or restraining students for disruptive behavior. • Experience working with adolescents and/or in educational settings,ability to assist with development of reading, math, and writing skills,sound judgment.
