Position Overview: Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the paraprofessional will work with students with behavioral or developmental disabilities needs by providing academic and behavioral support in the classroom. At 360 Community Services, staff assume the professional responsibility of providing supervision of students in a safe, supportive and positive classroom climate that develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to ensure individualized programs are being followed and process towards IEP goals are met. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Special Education team to implement assignments, activities, and modified curricula aligned with IEP goals. Follow daily schedules and school procedures, delivering student programming as directed. Monitor and support student behavior, intervening as needed and working with individuals or small groups. Implement approved de-escalation and physical intervention techniques when necessary. Assist students with functional academics (e.g., counting money, reading signs), daily living, and vocational skills. Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, activities, and behavior plans. Build positive relationships with students, staff, and external partners in a professional manner. Transport students to community outings or field trips using a company van or personal vehicle. Participate in required professional development and continuing education. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Special Education Director. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED required; college degree in Education, Psychology, or Social Sciences preferred. Experience: Prior experience working with children or young adults in a special education setting is preferred. Certifications (training provided if needed): CPR/First Aid Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Requirements: Minimum age of 20 years. Valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance (upon request). Ability to pass State and Federal background checks. Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, lift, and carry objects up to 10 pounds. Ability to sit for extended periods.
