Position Summary As a Paraprofessional (Teacher's Assistant) at AMS, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and ensuring all students have the tools they need to succeed. Working side by side with highly skilled educators, you will provide individualized and small-group support to scholars, assist with classroom management, and help foster a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities Support lead Teachers in delivering instruction by assisting with lesson activities, classroom management, and transitions. Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce skills, reteach concepts, and support individualized learning plans. Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and engagement. Substitute for lead teachers as needed to ensure learning continues uninterrupted. Prepare instructional materials, set up classroom resources, and assist with grading or documentation as directed. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of students. Model professionalism, respect, and high expectations in every interaction with students, staff, and families. Qualifications & Competencies Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and successful completion of the paraprofessional exam, OR Associate's degree (or higher). Previous experience working with children in an educational or youth-focused setting. Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
