Chugach Government Solutions, LLC 4.7company rating

Instructional assistant job in Gulfport, MS

About Us When you work at Chugach Government Solutions (CGS), you join a proud legacy of supporting missions while sustaining culture. The federal division of Chugach Alaska Corporation, CGS has been supporting critical missions as a government contractor for over 25 years. Our focus is to support facility maintenance, IT/technical services, construction and education. We are proud to have built, and continue to foster, an incredibly talented team spanning across the globe in hundreds of different fields - each team member proud to serve our country with first-class business services, while also making a difference for our Chugach shareholders. At CGS, empowering employees is a part of our core, and that focus is one of the ways we build and foster high-performing teams. We empower our employees through competitive compensation and benefits package, professional growth opportunities, truthful communication, and more! If you are looking for an opportunity to serve something bigger than yourself; if you want your day job to be one that creates meaningful value; if you are looking for an environment that highly values employees and respects individual differences - then Chugach Government Solutions may be the right fit for you! Job Overview Responsible for providing integrated academic instruction to students that meets academic competencies listed in the PRH. Provide students with basic direction, in compliance with government and management directives. We're looking for talented educators who are passionate about making a difference! Job Corps is a federal program of the U.S. Department of Labor. Our mission is to provide education, vocational training, and career development services to young people between the ages of 16-24. The Gulfport Job Corps Center serves students pursuing their High School Diploma or career training in the Medical Administrative Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant, or Electrical trades. We're proud to share that we were recently selected to host a new Advanced Training program, attracting students from Job Corps centers across the country. Additionally, we've just moved into a brand-new, multi-million-dollar facility - an exciting time of growth and innovation for our team! While the core instructional function for students in Reading, Math, and High School Diploma classes is similar to the traditional school system, there are some differences between the operational functions of our program including: * Job Corps Instructors teach smaller groups (usually 18-20 per class), tailored to a student's specific progress rather than following a class/grade progression model. This individualized approach requires more fluid and responsive planning, adjusting schedules to meet the unique needs of each student. * Our core business hours are 7:45a-4:45p Monday- Friday. Class time is 8:00a-3:25p with a lunch period for Instructors. * Because we're a job training program, we operate on a year-round model. Traditional school teachers work on an academic calendar that includes a summer break and shorter breaks during the year, although many school districts are moving toward the year-round model. Traditional teachers often work beyond school hours, spending extensive time on lesson planning, grading, parent communication, meetings, extracurricular activities, and other types of student support.
