Job Description/Duties
Facility Operations student assistant is responsible for daily operations of the fitness center. This includes customer service, light cleaning and organization
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist with greeting individuals and check-in participants to the facility including administering university waiver policies.
Assist with maintaining the front desk clean and organized.
Assist with maintaining supply of flyers/ publications at desk and lobby (hours of operation, Group Ex schedule, Intramural schedule, brochures, etc.).
Assist with reviewing past shift reports to stay updated.
Assist with distribution of information as requested regarding operations and programs.
Assist members in registering for programs and services.
Assist with performing opening and closing procedures for the facility.
Assist with equipment rental and checkout services.
Assist with receiving program related gees as needed including program registration and day use fees.
Assist with maintaining bulletin boards and advertising materials with updated information.
Assist as a First Responder to emergency situations and provide First Aid and/or CPR until professional help arrives.
Assist with completion of all necessary paperwork (shift report, incident and accident reports).
Assist with enforcing all policies and procedures.
Provide a friendly, inclusive, service-oriented environment for all staff and participants. Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining equipment
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates general knowledge of Recreation Sports and fitness activities.
Demonstrates effective organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrates ability to work independently.
Demonstrates current First Aid and CPR certification (Training will be acquired within one month of hiring).
Demonstrates experience in opening and closing duties of facilities.
Demonstrates effective response to emergency situations, injuries and first aid procedures.
Demonstrates effective customer service with difficult patrons/concerns and complaints.
Must attend annual and semester staff training (dates to be determined).
Must have a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
