As an Instructional Aide II, you'll deliver personalized support and guidance to students in Grades K-12, enriching their educational experiences and enhancing classroom effectiveness. Collaborating closely with teachers and other educational professionals, you'll implement individualized strategies and foster student success in both classroom and community settings.
‖ Responsibilities Include:
Implementing engaging and personalized curriculum-including on-site and community-based activities-and behavioral intervention strategies aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), Individual Transition Plan (ITP), and Positive Behavior Intervention Plan (PBIP).
Consulting actively with your supervisor regarding student progress and adjustments to the IEP/ITP/PBIP, assisting transitions to mainstream environments or adult programs, and contributing meaningful input through progress reports, data sheets, and tailored curriculum modifications.
Following and enriching the classroom schedule, aligning activities closely with students' academic, community, and vocational objectives, and addressing individualized educational services and necessary adjustments.

Participating proactively in data collection and analysis, accurately recording essential student information, and providing critical input for the development of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans.
Performing impactful job coaching duties, facilitating hands-on vocational training and mentoring students in job-related skills on campus and at community work sites, and updating supervisors regularly about vocational development and placement opportunities.
Providing compassionate support for students' physical care needs, such as toileting, medication administration, feeding, and personal hygiene, ensuring dignity and comfort are always maintained.
Maintaining vigilant oversight of classroom safety by continuously monitoring student activities, anticipating and addressing potential safety concerns swiftly and proactively.
Complying thoroughly with company policies and regulatory requirements, promptly reporting any concerns or violations.
Providing swift, calm, and appropriate crisis intervention when necessary, prioritizing student and staff safety, employing effective de-escalation techniques, and maintaining emotional neutrality during challenging situations.
Meeting essential school and regulatory training requirements through consistent participation in mandatory meetings and professional development sessions.
Assuring a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment through proactive assistance in cleaning, organizing materials, and supporting overall facility safety and maintenance.
Participating enthusiastically in the team environment, fostering cooperation, effective communication, mutual respect, and a positive work culture.
Assisting effectively with classroom operations and special projects as directed, including substitute teaching responsibilities.
Acting confidently as the primary instructor and supervisor in the teacher's absence, providing clear communication with families and maintaining effective classroom systems.
Providing thorough orientation and support to new staff, ensuring they are well-integrated and knowledgeable about agency guidelines.
Assisting creatively with educational planning, preparation of engaging materials, and meticulous maintenance of student data binders and communication resources.
Assisting collaboratively with classroom management, including budgeting, record-keeping, and maintaining a stimulating learning environment.
Serving diligently as an aide (“rider”) during transportation routes, ensuring student safety and behavioral management on Spectrum vehicles (where applicable).
Providing dependable student transportation by driving Spectrum vehicles safely, responsibly managing daily routes (where applicable, DMV report required).
Performing additional relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned.
‖ Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study.
Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a CA “Emergency 30 Day Sub Permit” within 90 days of beginning employment.
Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver's license.
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management (PCM) training.
Willingness and ability to drive a company van and transport students within the community.
Minimum 3yr's prior experience working with children, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.
Prior experience and/or highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services, curriculum development, classroom management and instruction preferred.
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations that help students move toward realistic goals.
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency situation and make independent decisions.
Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructional Assistant position will assist students under the direction of a certified teacher. Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors individual and groups of students, classroom and/or playground activities for the purpose of providing a safe environment.
Assists teachers and parents for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and general requirements of teaching, i.e. setting up schedules, meetings, etc., in both large and small group activities.
Performs record keeping, i.e. recording test results, basic clerical functions, copying tests, handouts, etc.
for the purpose of supporting the teacher in maintaining students' files and providing classroom
materials.
Maintains classroom equipment and supplies, etc. for the purpose of ensuring a safe and appropriate
learning environment.
Consults with teacher on a daily basis for current and future problems as well as alerting teacher to any

Assists teacher in supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
Administers tests for the purpose of assisting teacher.
Participates in various meetings for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information.
Contacts parents if requested by the teacher or administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Have knowledge and adhere to Positive Behavior Guidance, YMCA Code of Conduct, YMCA Child Supervision policy to monitor children at all times and visually supervise children at all times.
Have knowledge of and carry out all Health and Safety requirements according to Community Care Licensing, Head Start Performance Standards, and California Department of Education regulations.
Develop and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with Teachers, Center Directors, Family Advocates, Inclusion and Mental Health staff, as well as other YMCA staff, as part of teamed support of child and family.
Write daily intervention notes and collect ABC data to be submitted to Behavior Coordinator at the end of each work week. Maintain and organize binder containing these documents.
Participate in meetings, classes, and trainings for professional growth and to meet job expectations.

Canal Alliance is seeking a bilingual Teachers Aid to join its Workforce team. This role will help the professor with Saturday's Construction lab class. The teachers aid helps the students learn how to use different construction tools and aids the students with meeting the safety protocols. The teachers aid will assist the professor to teach the student show to read basic blueprints, learn math skills and measurements.

Microbiology Teaching Assistant
Instructional assistant job in Richmond, CA
The Public Health Microbiology Teaching Assistant provides both didactic and laboratory bench training to develop and maintain the workforce for the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Laboratories and California Public Health Laboratory Network.
Duties include conducting a series of courses to meet the State of California requirements for Public Health Microbiologist certification and related topics to maintain laboratory workforce safety, shipping certification and competency requirements and developing new training for COVID-19 laboratory testing.
The scope of training may include Laboratory Safety, Virology (including COVID-19), Serology, Molecular Testing, Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, Environmental Microbiology, and Laboratory Regulations.
Part-time and full-time positions available.
Salary Range: $36.53 to 39.42 an hour depending on experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works under direction of Public Health Microbiology Trainers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and update instructional materials and present curricula required for workforce training.
Develops, provides content, and delivers instruction for lectures and laboratory training modules.
Provides timely and appropriate feedback to trainees.
Assists with development and administration of assessment tools.
May serve as SME for specific training components and provide technical expertise for developing new training components, including COVID-19.
Applies knowledge of biosafety to implement appropriate safeguards for required in-person instruction modules.
Assists with laboratory orientation and ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures and policies.
Provides material for distance learning modules for COVID-19 and other training subjects and assists with their implementation and evaluation.
Organizes and maintains electronic training document sites and recorded laboratory procedure training videos to be accessible to trainees and instructors.
Maintains technical knowledge, expertise and troubleshooting skills by review of the literature, consultation with peers, internet searches and other activities as directed.
Assists with identifying, purchasing, and organizing needed training supplies including media and PPE.
Participates in the review and updating of training policy and procedures.
Assists with training program reports and documents as requested to CDPH and Public Health Laboratory leadership to meet agency and grant requirements and deadlines.

Education/Experience
Possession of Bachelor's degree in a related area, required.
Advanced degree in public health, science, or related field, preferred.
At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Experience as a trainer in a public health field or working in a public health, clinical or environmental laboratory preferred.
Certificates/Licenses/Clearances
Public Health Microbiologist certificate, preferred.
Will consider ASCP (M) - Technologist in Microbiology license and Clinical Microbiology Scientist (CMS) license.
