The Opportunity
In your role as a Technical Instructional Designer at Springboard, you'll primarily be responsible for updating our Machine Learning Engineering course for our University partners. This role presents an exciting opportunity to apply pedagogical principles to a new, cutting-edge model - laying the groundwork for the future of adult education online. You'll have a great vantage point at the intersection of product, operations, engineering, marketing, and community.
ResponsibilitiesOwn the design, development, and implementation of the update of our Machine Learning Engineering course. Collaborate with other Learning Experience team members to help maintain and update other technical courses. Work with subject matter experts to curate course content and revise and develop course projects that align with and support course learning objectives. Collaborate with members of the Learning Experience team, project managers, and student operations teams to deliver on the pedagogical components of the program. Set learning and course quality targets; create and track metrics that incorporate feedback from multiple qualitative and quantitative sources; improve courses based on feedback.Work with the instructional design team to co-design models and templates aimed at building quality learning experiences at scale
You:Have a Bachelor's or higher degree in Education (preferred) Have a Bachelor's or higher degree (or other certification or experience) in a relevant STEM subject (such as, but not limited to, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics)3+years of relevant work experience and 1+ year of direct experience with e-learning Have taken at least one University-level or equivalent coding class in Python or another coding language. Have formal training in and a strong understanding of instructional design, cognitive psychology, adult learning and online/distance learning. A degree, diploma, or certification in education or a related field is a plus. Possess exceptional organizational and project management skills, and live by deadlines.Quickly learn the core concepts of new subject areas.Have the ability to work and influence in a complex cross-functional environment Think quickly on your feet and handle pressure well.Are an Analytical thinker who is comfortable using data to measure results and inform decisions.Are an excellent communicator, whether you're working with external subject matter experts or with colleagues across the company.Are passionate about improving education.

About the Role

In this role, you will:
Architect learning paths and eLearning courseware using a Learning Management System (Skilljar) Curate written, video, and webinar content from customer-facing and product teams in a centralized and indexed Learning Management SystemDevelop and standardize content that enables cybersecurity professionals throughout the customer lifecycle Create a unified brand experience across all products and education services Collaborate with stakeholders in Support, Customer Experience, Customer Success, Product Management, and Managed Services to ensure content production is aligned with customer needs and product adoption goals Work alongside the Customer Adoption / Onboarding team to increase time to value and reduce initial support tickets Apply principles of adult learning and cognitive load practices to eLearning and Instructor-Led content

The skills you'll bring include:
3-5 years of experience as an Instructional DesignerPrior experience as a technical trainer Prior experience with cloud-based solutions Prior experience developing customer content (videos, eLearning modules, technical presentations, lab guides) Excel at visual storytelling using delivery tools such as power point presentations and eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication Demonstrated ability to transform Instructor-Led Training (ILT) content into an eLearning experience Demonstrated ability to create new content following the ADDIE model of curriculum development

The Instructional Designer & Technologist works closely with SMEs, vendors, and Learning Product and Experience team to support course development in Blackboard while also participating in third-party integrations, content development, and improvements in user experience. The Instructional Designer & Technologist is part of an innovative team with some experience building courses and working in an LMS. They are able to learn new skillsets and adapt to accommodate changing business priorities. They should have knowledge of pedagogical best practices for increasing learner motivation and active learning, mutli-modality delivery methods and blended learning.
Principle Accountabilities & Deliverables

+ Work closely and effectively with subject matter experts, vendors, content creators, LMS managers, outside consultants and key internal stakeholders to build documentation, organize course content, build and edit learning objects, and help deliver courses that are crafted to be instructionally sound and effective.

+ Support in the development and updates of educational content (audio, videos, learning objects etc.) using various education technology design tools.

+ Maintain Blackboard LMS courses, troubleshoot issues and recommend improvements.

+ Collaborates with Learning Products and Experience team to implement innovative and effective learning techniques

+ Assists with end-user support, ongoing quality control, debugging, and improvements as needed.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience

+ Bachelor's degree required

+ 1+ years experience in Educational or Informational Technology or Online Learning or equivalent experience.

+ Experience working on educational technology delivery for online learning, in particular with learning management systems strongly preferred

Skills

+ Familiarity of various education technology and design tools: Articulate 360/Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, etc.,

+ Knowledge of computer software applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Web applications

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Strong collaborative skills.

+ Adaptable to flexible work schedules while maintaining good communication with team.

+ Work in a fast paced environment and meet essential deadlines.

+ Maintain professional image and work environment.

Abilities
