The Role
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Seeking an individual with a background in Naval Architechure and Outfitting Design and who is also proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite. A complete understanding of ship design practices and blueprint reading skills. Applicant will be directly involved in the Quality Assurance and development of Naval Architechure and Outfitting drawings and other products associated with U.S. Naval ship modifications and overhauls. Applicant will also be responsible for ensuring all techincal requirements are fully compled into deliverable products while following applicable procedures and standards.
