This Academic Learning Specialist will join our Student Support Team and work alongside our Academic and Social Emotional specialists and Elementary teachers to support students who need intervention in math and literacy. The candidate must possess a profound understanding of students of diverse learning profiles and should be familiar with neuropsychological and educational evaluations as well as creating and working with differentiated student learning plans. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong background in working with teachers to modify their instruction to meet students' needs. Finally, the candidate should be confident partnering with families guiding them in understanding how to support their child's learning both in and out of school. This is a part-time position for 30 hours per week, with attendance at staff meetings and occasional night/weekend events outside of regular hours, to be agreed upon with the Associate Head of School.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Identify learning needs of students through observation and assessments to determine intervention needs in and out of the classroom

Serve as a resource for families, providing ideas for outside tutors and summer programs

Perform arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, monitoring, and other support duties as needed
