What you'll do:

• Review content and prototypes with a quality-focused design lens; identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve.
• Partner with subject matter experts to research, shape, and validate content.
• Turn complex material into training that's easy to follow and action-oriented.
• Build supporting media and learning assets (audio, video, basic simulations, role plays, knowledge checks, interactive elements).
• Develop learning deliverables in multiple engaging formats and recommend the right approach for the audience.
• Manage work to agreed effort and schedule; communicate progress and risks clearly.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of templates, design standards, and course aesthetics.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
• 4+ years of experience in instructionaldesign and/or eLearning development.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate learning materials and improve them (structure, visuals, interaction design, accessibility, and overall learner experience).
• Experience working with SMEs to plan, develop, and refine training content.
• Proficiency with Articulate 360 Storyline and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Word).
• Strong writing and editing skills; ability to simplify complex ideas without losing accuracy.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Nice to have:
• Consulting-based instructionaldesign experience or work across multiple internal stakeholders/clients.
• Experience with additional tools: Rise, Camtasia, SnagIt, Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate, Lectora, Visio, Acrobat, etc.
• Comfort applying or collaborating on basic visual design standards (layout, typography, consistency, branding).
• Familiarity with accessibility practices (WCAG-minded design, captions, alt text, color contrast).

About the Position
An InstructionalDesigner HR designs and/or retools instructor-led, online, and blended training programs to improve performance and drive organizational objectives, culture, and compliance. An individual cultivates and maintains collaborative professional relationships with customers to analyze learning and performance needs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
1. Conduct needs assessments to ensure all development materials are focused on addressing customer needs and closing business performance gaps. Demonstrate competency and expertise by achieving buy-in for output from the needs analysis, including development project plans and associated budgets involved from executive decision makers.
2. Design and build program and course assessments aligned with defined business needs to measure effectiveness of materials and delivery strategy. Measures will extend beyond the classroom to ensure knowledge transfer and achievement of business results.
3. Design multimedia solutions for all collateral such as graphic design, print, presentation, html, email.
4. Identify most effective ways to communicate messaging in print and related media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation and other layout techniques.
5. Evaluate, design and develop learning and delivery strategies including leader guides, participant guides, learning activities, reference guides or job-aids, storyboards, video scripts, design documents, eLearning modules, pre-work, post-work, and train-the-trainer materials to facilitate learning, promote behavioral change and drive organizational performance goals by applying sound instructional practices and design.
6. Develop partnerships and work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts during analysis, design, and development to produce quality training materials within established timeframes by accurately representing content and applying appropriate, sound instructionaldesign principles.
7. Ensure all designed materials meet compliance and legal guidelines.
8. Design, develop, maintain and implement processes, including review and feedback related to non-UOPX developed materials, to ensure adherence to best in class instructionaldesign process that produce effective, quality training materials in an efficient manner.
9. Pilot and evaluate course material to ensure material is instructionally sound and supports intended learning objectives to achieve the desired business results through assessing preliminary, pre-published versions of courses and materials. Attend product deliveries and gauges perceived product quality and customer satisfaction Affects changes to reflect lessons learned.
10. Review, evaluate, and revise vendor courses and externally developed materials to ensure course content meets UOPX Learning & Development specifications by auditing for and applying sound instructionaldesign and strategy.
11. Collaborate with team members to review works-in-progress to ensure sound instructionaldesign practices and expand professional knowledge and understanding through peer review and discussion. Define and implement stage-gate processes, to validate needs assessment, evaluation creation, design, development, pilot and implementation.
12. Develop and maintain course descriptions and catalog entries for all products.
13. Perform other duties as required or apparent.

As a SDL InstructionalDesign Consultant, you will collaborate with subject matter experts (“SMEs”) to design and deliver high quality instructional content that reflects the learning goals of our SDL clients. Bachelor's degree required, in addition to 7+ years of training design experience, to include leading training program design efforts
Master's degree in InstructionalDesign or a related field preferred
Prior experience includes working with complex content and designing training for multiple delivery modalities (traditional classroom, online classroom, and self-paced e-Learning modules)
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates excellent project management skills
Broad knowledge of instructional technologies, is thoroughly proficient in the advanced use of e-Learning tools, and can augment regular functionality with some custom programming

Job Title InstructionalDesigner - Part Time (Remote) Under general supervision of the Director of Online Operations, the InstructionalDesigner (ID) serves as an innovative resource providing consultation, training, and support to subject matter experts (SMEs) in their efforts to create and maintain instructional components to be delivered within an interactive online learning environment.
The ID provides expertise and knowledge on various pedagogical approaches and effective practices to support course delivery. The ID will follow the course development processes at New England College (NEC) which includes alignment of outcomes, assessments and activities, and assists SMEs in the completion of a course blueprint. Aligning the course to a course quality rubric, providing feedback, and building the course in the learning management system are required.
Essential Duties Summary
* Apply instructionaldesign theories, practice, and methods in the course development and redevelopment processes.
* Design and build quality courses in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) within contractual time.
* Maintain the flow of tasks and monitor due date timelines for SMEs to complete course development projects.
* Collaborate with SMEs to develop an integration table and blueprint for the course.
* Align a course quality design rubric to new course development and provide constructive and supportive feedback to SMEs.
* Provide faculty training as appropriate.
* Monitor developments in andragogy, and effective practices in online curriculum design and delivery.
* Evaluate existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
* Establish and work within strict project deadlines.
Required Qualifications
* Master's degree from an accredited college or university
* Minimum 5 years of experience in higher education
* Evidence of experience with online course quality
* Online learning instructional support experience
* Evidence of experience interacting with faculty at the college level
* Excellent communication skills
* Demonstrated leadership ability
* Knowledge of learning management systems, specifically Blackboard
* Knowledge of MS 0365
